My own experience with the Angel ST was that they didn't really need to warm up, providing good traction even when cold. Of all the half dozen different tires I've used on my Ducatis, the Angel ST was least likely to follow grooves, with the Avon Storm pretty close behind. They were so much better than the Bridgestones that I had been using before them. Can you please give more details about the tires your testing, I hear nothing about personality, warm up time, side to side transition, how they interact with rain grooves, at what point in the tire life they stop working vs new etc.
Tire life? I never got much more than 4000 miles out of ANY rear tire on the Ducati ST2. The rear was good right up to the end. The front was noticably less good once the sides had been worn off, but the middle still had tread.
