Sears Enterprises pod filters to replace the old K&N drop-in. I hope this doesn't open up a can of jetting worms

Dion, did I miss it or did you not mention what exhaust you are running? When I had pods on my SVS I had an M4 full system. If I remember right I had a 220 on the front and a 210 on the rear carbs with 17.5 pilots. Stock jets are like 140s or something, so its a BIG jump. I had 152's front and rear when I ran the desnorkled air filter. Call Zoran and he can give ya the hot set-up.

I'm running the Yosh RS3 full titianium exhaust. You went from the stocks to 220/210! I figure that, it seems with a less restrictive intake I'll have to open up the jets. I've talked to Zoran and he's pretty much told me the same ;)

Finally, safety wire. Saftey wire everything, Safety wire anything. I'm going to safety wire my ear to my nose.

Just the basics actually: any bolts with fluid behind them (oil, water, etc), axles, pins, brake mounts, etc.

SVsick50,

Check out these instructions for some tips on safety wire procedures:

http://www.faa.gov/certification/aircraft/av-info/dst/43-13/Ch_07-07.doc

Basically, it would be better if you wrapped the wire around the fastener head in a tightening direction. Also, finish the safety wire by making a small loop on the cut end, known as a "courtesy loop". This keeps the sharp end from cutting the hand of the next guy who works on your airplane, er, Motorcycle...

If I remember right I had a 220 on the front and a 210 on the rear carbs with 17.5 pilots.

That's what I'm running with my full M4. After about 6k miles, the plugs look fine, which isn't the most accurate measure of running rich but it's the best I can afford.

BTW - One of the best things of this setup is the sound of air rushing into the carbs. This setup makes the bike sound way different (better).

zoran is great with the sv's but for someone in your neck of the woods check out www.spearsenterprises.com he also knows lots about the sv and his rider brian long is super fast!!

i'd put the sprocket cover back on. it will help stop the chain from cracking a hole in the crankcase if it breaks. UOTE]

on sv cover is nothing but piece of plastic that covers only side of sprocket.

I thought I saw a company who makes a metal one that protects the crankcase area from that sort of thing happeneing. :confused

Dion the bike is gunna be sweet! I love that choke cable idea! You should be a spokeperson for suzuki because that bike of yours has taken such a beating and it still just keeps chuggin along! Good luck on the track my friend!

a yeah thats why i said "or" 1 of the half moon case protectors. my f2's is plastic as well, but underneth the plastic is a metal runner that prevents the chain from punching a hole in the crankcase if it breaks

I'm thinking of doing an homage to Mad Max somehow on my bike through some kind of graphic. My SV kinda reminds me of those vehicles in that movie. :laughing
