My Tenant (the old Guy) has stability problems!!

get him drunk. than when he falls over EMS will take him because he is not competent enough to make his own decisions.

medics are pretty persuasive even if he does fall over again and cannot get up without being drunk, they can probably get him to go. there is a lot of training that goes into them getting uncooperative pts that need to go in, to give in and let them take them to the hospital.

i just read the headache part to, some medic might even say he thought he was having a stroke because of the headache and high BP to avoid being charged with kidnapping.

It will only get worse, I fear. You're a good man. Lend him a gun.

You guys are F'd up!!!! :laughing

Thanks Connie (Steve- You've Got Mail!!) :laughing

I've been reading/calling about those life alert thingys and I see that this new gadget called a 'Cell Phone' is MUCH cheaper per month.

I wanted to get something 'Right Now',, so I called those AssCLOWNS at Life Alert, and they will NOT quote you any prices over the phone!!! They only want to get your address and 'send you a brochure'. F You Life Alert!! I told the guy- I will give you my Credit Card- I need it ASAP!!

They are too stupid to do that.

My g/f told me that they are around $70/month.

I decided that I will go to WalMart/Best Buy (tonight) and buy him a prepaid cell phone. I want him to keep it with him at ALL times. I just need to get one with big buttons and that is SUPER easy to use.

Any suggestions? Also, I need it ASAP.

AARP has cheap big button cell phones. Check the website.

They only direct you to "Consumer Cellular". I already called them- their least expensive plan is the $10/month plan. If I were to buy him a phone- he would only use it for emergencies. He's not a phone person.

You fail!!!!! (But the gun idea was funny).

Also- he does not drink.

How about a SPOT transponder?

If you get him a cell phone- get one that has a GPS tracker in it than you can access.

The guy can barely f'n WALK!!!!

I don't need a F'n SPOT TRANSPONDER when he's in; 1. His Bedroom, 2. His Bathroom, 3. The Kitchen, or 4. The BACKYARD!!!!
:thumbdown

Thank You and Ernie for your Stellar advice!!! Now, take this pointy hat and go sit in the corner!!! :rofl

From what I see online, the Jitterbug seems to be the cell phone of choice for Oldsters... REALLY big buttons, and very simple to use. I don't know if the phone itself is expensive, though... :dunno

This is starting to get scary. I'd hate to see you come home from work (or from one of your other perverted gay whore stalking bondage creepy fucking activities) and you find your pups gnawing on old body parts because the guy croaked.

Lefty, you're a good man for helping this guy. :thumbup

He's more or less lucid and very stubborn; he certainly knows you're trying to help, but is too proud to go whole-hog with any "drastic" measures.

My guess is that the best you can do is provide for your own peace of mind: strike a compromise between his muleheadedness and your concern for his safety. Something minimally complicated that allows the man his dignity while giving him a last-ditch option for assistance.

Commercially available "medic-alert" type services have always struck me as scammy. Here's hoping a cheap oldster-friendly cellie or something similar will do the trick.

As much as I hate to say it; I think you are correct (on several counts :teeth ).

He's the type of man (retired Electrical Engineer) who has always been very self-reliant -(like most Male BARFers in the sex-department) and he's not used to anyone telling him what to do or helping him. It must really feel like crap for him to be in this 'new' position.

I'm afraid that he may try to 'control' his own destiny by taking himself out. OMG!!, that is the last thing I want to come home to. :wow

I went and got that pre-paid phone tonight and put in on the charger. I just hope he uses it- if he has any problems.

We shall see.

Re: Medic Alert

My father-in-law was in a similar situation several years ago. He would fall down while walking, and found it hard to walk in a straight line. He was diagnosed with water on the brain, which caused pressure in the interior of the brain. We contacted the "I've fallen and I can't get up" people - they called and tried to sell us a whole house alarm system. Apparently their gadget works in conjunction with an alarm system that needs to be monitored by their company. We didn't even bother getting prices at that point.

About a year later he got to the point where he was completely bed-ridden, then passed away about 3 years later.

Well, if you won't get him a gun, get him a fleshlight.

Lefty, Sweet on you for trying so hard to ease the guys suffering.

BTW is he hawt?
