Napa/Amcan Breakfast Meetup 5/29

Shit I wish I could come....Being self employed is cool sometimes but I find myself more offten than not working on the weekends, Even though I didn't say much at the last breakfast it was just what I needed, Going through my divorce it feels like i'm broke and don't have much to say......Both Patty's and Joanne Please don't think I'm unsociable just going through a quiet time in my life. Definatly enjoyed everybody's company.

SOunds like we are all going through similar situations...though mine is over legally..it is still NEW..this time last year I was enjoying my birthday weekend..a few weeks later..I asked my hubby for a divorce...lucky it was amicable and quick..and officially legally done Feb 27th of this year! I run the gamut of emotions! I know you have a more complicated situation from what you explained to me! Hang in there. Need to talk and/or ride...we're here!!

Patty, I really need to start hiking. Later this summer I will be out in the mountains hiking for gold. When and where are you going so if you like I can hike with you.

Joanne

I need some gold!!

JOanne...not sure yet exactly where..but we can pick something and go! What is your hiking level? Do you prefer mostly flat...can you handle some uphill? How many miles total would you be comfy with? I need my A$$ kicked..so I will either do my "fat burner" hike out on Bear Valley Trail out to Arch rock in Pt Reyes..4.5 miles each way..mostly flat..just LONG! Or will go to Muir Woods BUT probably start from the top to avoid all the tourists in the main parking lot..unless we get there at 9-10am to start.

If you want to do the hike on Sunday instead of breakfast..let me know. I would cage it to wherever we hike..don't want to moto back after a long hike and hard to change out shoes!

Anyone else interested in a hike rather than breakfast and moto ride..let me know! We can do lunch after the hike!

Patty I think I can keep up with you. I used to live in the mountains and hiking all day long up and down canyons was never a problem. I am a little out of shape, but I am sure I can handle it.

Thanks Joanne

So I think I am going to cancel this breakfast for lack of RSVP here.

I am going to hike in Muir Woods..want to leave the Napa/Vallejo area around 9am so we can get to MW by 10amish..trying to beat the rush of tourists there.

I will be going to the BootJack Trail..hike up a few miles to my secret waterfall and rest there for a short bit then haul ass up BootJack and I think go to Troop 80 trail and back down Alice Eastwood to Fern Canyon and back down to Cathedral Grove and out to parking area.

If anyone else wants to get off their motos for a day and cage it with me, I will drive. I can fit 3-4 extra bodies in my CR-V.

We will hike and then stop somewhere for lunch after. I don't like to eat a big breakfast before I hike..so no breakfast meetup beforehand!

EDITED TO ADD: So if you want to come with me...The meeting spot at 9am is Safeway parking lot in American Canyon. You can safely leave your cars there and I will drive to Muir Woods. Let's say KSU(but in the cage, LOL) at 9am..so try and be there earlier if you want to grab a starbucks or supplies from safeway)

What to bring:
- decent hiking shoes..we will be going uphill on some portions..trails are dirt, rock, tree roots etc..so something sturdy with traction.
-Water/fluids
-light snacks if ya need something along the hike
-money for entrance to MW (I think it is just a few dollars last I was there) and lunch money
-buns and legs of steel (okay well..you will have that after we trudge our way up Bootjack trail!)
-dress in layers recommended. Muir Woods is mostly shady and can get quite cool down atthe bottom. As you warm up on the hike, you may want to remove layers!

If you have any questions about the hike...PM me!

see my post above Joanne for hike details I just added...with meetup spot and what ya need to bring!

I wouldn'g have been able to make it anyway as I'm golfing on Sunday.

But a note about riding in SF. On three day weekends it is BEST to come into the city.

MUCH MUCH MUCH less traffic. the City EMPTIES out on three day weekends, so If you feel comfortable, it is the best time to come into town.

and sorry to hear about all y'alls troubles. just keep your chin up.

Joanne...I am still okay for Sunday hiking..as long as not pouring rain. I just came off a pretty horendous experience with the coached ride to Berryessa..twisting in the pouring rain..not fun...got separated from group with 3 other gals...there was an accident we missed since we were separated..one of the gals allegedly slid out on the center line paint and lowsided into a guardrail..uggh...it sucked...ready to stay on terra firma for a day!!

Let's still plan to meet at 9am at Safeway/Starbucks in Amcan..if the weather sucks..we can do coffee and see from there! Might turn into a movie day if it totally sucks like it did today!
