The way too many RIP threads this year has sent the wifey's paranoia through the roof. Her new obsession is neck protection. And I think I'm going to have to cave in for sake of marital peace.

I looked around and saw neck rolls, race collars, neck support, neck braces, etc, and prices ranging from $30 to $400.

Can you please help me out? I ride a sprotbile, one-piece leathers and full face HJC.

Thanks,

Marc.

I knew eventually some smartass was going to post a wise crack, but posts #2 and 3?

I wear the airbag vest. I have seen it work in person, saw the owner go down infront of me at Thunderhill. I would highly recommend it. It goes all around your neck and protects your tail bone. The owner is a fellow BarFer, something like exscott, or scotty something like that. Check em out

Well...Ya gotta know what's out there, and what it's for. Doesn't that just leave, what you're willing to live with, and what's the chance's of the neck brace being the item that makes the difference?

I mean if your heart stops from a chest impact, ...won't it kinda piss Ya off that you didn't get the chest protector, cause ya spent all you were willing to spend, on the neck brace?

How about the new leathers with Air bags? That do both chest and neck protection, when you part company with your bike on impact?

both a valid and non valid point... i'd prob not really give any thought to it if it did happen :laughing

What precludes him from wearing a chest protector as well? :rolleyes

Mods, please delete this thread. Dr. Evil's is much better. I should've searched.

This seems like a good idea. I mean, if you are going to go for the whole smash as far as protection goes, this might be the best answer. And it won't be too intrusive until you need it to be.

Nothing precludes him...except his self...That''s why I mentioned..it comes down to what your willing to live with ( get in and out of every time you ride the bike).

In fact I tossed the air bag chest and neck protection, though in there.

What precludes you from reading? Mr roll eyes? :laughing

I wish more riders would get Hit-Air vests. I pains me to read about injuries that could have been prevented. Do It!

The D-Air leathers and Alpine Star leathers are good but they are spendy starting at $5,000
I can recommend the SaferMoto/HitAir vests as I have crashed in them at least 4 times. and they SAVED my ass
