Go to developer.apple.com and look for the iPhone SDK.

I have it but it is of little use right now as i found out it only runs on macs:thumbdown

I do have an old macbook that im trying to find right now:thumbup

make it for android

I want someone to make this iPhone app: Tie the camera to a piece of OCR code. Snap a picture of a block of text, run it through the OCR engine, and then let you store the text as a note, send as an email, SMS, etc.

not sure iphone has the processing power to do the ocr stuff but definitely worth a try.

There's an app out there, Evernote, that lets you snap photos of text and then it will apply OCR so that the image becomes text-searchable, but it never bothers applying the OCR data to plaintext. So it can do it, just nobody's doing it.

FYI - you have to pony up $100 just for the privilege of loading your iPhone app on your own personal phone. I was going to play around with building some apps, but I lost interest when I learned that it would cost me $100 to move beyond the simulator.
