New Reacher series?

My wife and I binged the entire season in two evenings we really enjoyed it. It's all very predictable of course but it was good action flick fun.

According to IMDb the star is 6'2 but he says in the show that he's 6'5. I don't know that it matters. He's definitely positioned to be bigger than anybody else in the show and that's what really matters so that he has an imposing physicality.

We enjoyed it If they produce a second season we will probably watch that too.

You might notice that it's produced by skydance which is Tom Cruise's production company.

Nicole Kidman was asked “what now” after her divorce with Tommy:

“I can wear high heels again”

My goal in life is to one day be as happy as Nicole Kidman after leaving her divorce lawyer’s office. (You can google the picture if you don’t already know it.)

edit: found it

Amazing. He is Reacher, except for that BS they made up about him baiting Rapists so he could shoot them while in Pakistan.

I binged it in 2 days as well.

---

Those kids hired to beat him up were fucking stupid. They were each like 2/3 his height/mass, no fighting experience, half drunk. So satisfying.

Yeah, we couldn't figure out why that scene, about his shooting people in Pakistan, was introduced - had nothing to do with the story at all.

But we chuckled at the one scene early in the first show where he was walking along the sidewalk and people were moving over to avoid him - straight out of the books!

Apparently Lee Child is happy with this iteration of his work, unlike his past comments regarding the Tom Cruise mess!

As noted I enjoyed the Tom Cruise movies but he was his own character.

I enjoyed how in the show when he fought the South American special forces guys, it was a serious challenge and he took some hits and cuts, they weren't easy, as he said, he couldn't take them down in 10 seconds. If it was 8 hours of him beating up lesser people it would suck.

For anyone who cares, a 95grain 9mm is NOT subsonic.

I think they intentionally put crap like that in to annoy gun guys. The Marine unforms looked legit at least, from my cursory inspection.

Yeah wouldn't you want a slower heavier bullet? Also I find it funny when he goes "Small caliber, 9mm"...like the most common pistol caliber..

It's not intentional. They just don't know or care. Like when you see a dirt bike in a movie and it's dubbed over with the sound of a 4 cyl engine. Majority of viewers aren't going to pick up on that. Just like anything inaccurate about gun specifics.

I caught that also and was like WTF. 147gr rounds are subsonic in 9mm so yeah heavier means it moves slower leaving the barrel and won't go supersonic on you.

Speaking of gun guys how annoying is it that they are always racking the slide every time they touch a gun? Even if they have already racked it not 10 minutes before and not unloaded it since? Although I did like that he press checked the Desert Eagle in the car.

Me and the wife binged it in two nights. up until 2am Sat and midnight last night. Good show liked the casting in this one it was more believable than the movies. I hope they do a second season.

This confused me for a bit because Reacher was in the Army. It took a while for me to remember that his father was a Captain in the Marines.

As a guy on ar15.com said, at least they didn’t have him cocking the hammer on a Glock.

I didn't watch the show, so I don't know.

The only problem with making 95 grain sub sonic is whether you have enough oomph to cycle the action with the reduced powder charge, unless the pistol has been modified to fire the reduced load.

Yeah I would bet that 99% of show writers are not gun people so that is why we get what we get and any advisors on the show probably keep their mouths shut to keep the spigot flowing with sweet green cash.

Overall even with those issues pretty enjoyable although the rhino soliloquy at the end had me thinking WTF is happening here.

I love the fight scenes but too many people get back from from literal skull fracturing injuries too quickly :)

Or like he literally kicks someone in the head and they're good for another round.
