New Versys 900?

at risk of putting words in his mouth, i would guess hun considers the new versys to be a bit portly...

Not that it matters, but I absolutely love my 2015 Versys 1000 LT. A spectacularly fun bike that I have put 65K miles on with very few problems - I would have put on more, but I have other bikes...

Although I really don't like the green, and that seems to be the only color they're doing. If they ever do it in Burnt Orange, that's the color to get...

I just saw a blurb about it this morning. What are they claiming for weight? I had a 1000 too, but on the kind of roads I like to ride, I was always aware of the additional weight. BTW, I love the green! :thumbup

On Jalopnik, there is this quote:

"Kawasaki didn't release any specs on the bike's weight, but expect it to be more than you'd like to pick up regularly — given that the Versys 1100 weighs about 83.9 pounds more than its Z1100 sibling, we can guess the Versys 900 will come in at about 555 pounds."

But that's just a guess, of course.

the versys 650 is 200kg, the versys 1000 is 250kg, probably in the middle around 235kg or 520lbs would be my guess

the bmw gs adventure is 268kg or 600lbs. i think it only weighs that much when it's tipped over, it has to be closer to 450lbs when it's upright...

So no side cases on the FJR?
I split two lanes in the morning
I split two lanes in the afternoon
I split two lanes before I split two lanes
and then I split two more

But not with side cases, and one of my mirrors got modified to fold all the way back.

And the one time I put those cases on was to ride the first time with my GF, and I ended up dropping it without the rear crash bars on.

My 850 special was 535, the FJR is 600 the way I have it, and the XS650 special was just under 450.
How does that apply to the weight of the bike under discussion?

Rookie. Split 880 both north and south, in the snow, uphill both ways, on my FJR1300 with cases. It was easier than my burgman.

Love the jingle
