In case you couldn't be bothered to go pick up a copy of CityBike last month, here is my review of the new waterproof leather Aerostich suit:

If the San Francisco Bay Area’s motorcycling community was to become a separatist republic and design a flag, it would probably be a picture of a lane-splitting commuter wearing an Aerostich suit. Come to think of it, the flag would probably be a tattered, faded Aerostich suit. In fact, the Bay Area is Aerostich’s best market. For 26 years, the one-piece (and two-piece) Roadcrafter suit has been the gold standard of riding apparel.

Sure, it has its flaws. It’s not 100% waterproof (although Aerostich claims it is with proper preparation). The baggy fit isn’t exactly flattering and can slow you down at higher speeds what with all the flapping and fluttering. And although pound-for-pound nothing is as abrasion-resistant as the heavy Cordura, a freeway-speed crash will usually total a Roadcrafter. And importantly, for Aerostich at least, is the fact that a guy riding a cruiser or vintage bike in a bright-colored jumpsuit looks freakish, closing off a huge segment of the U.S. motorcycle market. The dream: the fit, look and abrasion resistance of leather with the versatility and comfort of a Roadcrafter.

I read it in the paper dude. I was appalled by the modeling shots, just like masameet. At least I think that's what she meant. :dunno J/K :D
I also liked the Versys in the background. Also you forgot to mention the price.

Very good for having 2 articles in one issue.. You seem to post more and blog more recently , we can guess why ;)

Appalled? Do I look that fat?

The price of the suit is (and always was) in the last paragraph...

Don't feel bad; after the first 300 words, most motorcycle-related stories go unread, in my experience. That's why I put all the good stuff in front...
Your, are, correct! I guess I didn't pay attention to the utmost right hand corner in the paper..

DO WANT.

(the suit, that is.)

EDIT: waitaminnit...

Aerostich then has its Transit suit sewn in a specially-equipped factory in Vietnam.

:wtf So much for Made in USA, eh? :cry

Thanks for the review! Let us know how it feels during a non-rainy day. Too hot?

When I attempted to buy an Aerostich I was advised I would best be fitted with a 2 piece; however, they wouldn't be able to accommodate my body type unless I compromised with a 38 pant to couple with the correctly sized jacket :cry
When oh when are they going to realize there exists a female market with boobies and everything?

When it is worth it to realize it. Right now they are probably reasoning that the market for "females with boobies" isn't large enough for them to make a separate section that is worth it.

There is so little QUALITY gear out there for us. I think since the MC manufacturers are recognizing women as a marketing target some of the better gear manufacturers will too, at least that's what I keep hoping.

That is the weirdest thing I've ever seen. I'm glad it's made with flame-retardant fabric, as I have a problem with jewelry spontaneously combusting. I think it's because my body's bioelectric flow is unstable.
I did pick up the last copy of City Bike, but actually I am awaiting your review of the Yamaha Aqua-Titanium necklace that was mentioned in there. I've been having some troubles with my ju-ju and I wonder if this poduct will get me properly aligned.

There's not a damn thing wrong with the 2-piece roadcrafter. I use one because I have a long torso and short legs, and a two piece was the shortest road to a proper fit for me. I just use and wear mine as a 1 piece, and it does just fine.

I'd be thrilled with a 2 piece but the 38 pant is about 8 inches to big in the waist it was the only way they can accommodate the zip together.
Probably best to reduce the bewbies so I can fit into men's gear :teeth

As motorcycle gear companies realize the ever-growing number of female riders, the more gear you shall see for women.
Up until now motorcycles have always been a "guy thing". The number of female riders was so insignificant, that it simply was not worth designing or introducing female gear. If a woman wanted to ride, she would simply find a suitable "men's" size.
I think within the next several years you shall see more and more gear specifically for woman.
Hell, they may even design jackets with 'Patented boob armor'. :laughing

As a lark I did some carbon fiber shields for the girls-won't say how I did it but using the mold I could make a tailored corset type protector for the female chest to be worn under the jackets. Back protectors are easy they fit everyone.
