I've never thought much of WD-40 myself. I prefer LPS lubricants myself. They come in three weights, and don't evaporate like WD does. Oddly enough, LPS got bought out a few years ago by.... yup. the WD-40 corporation.

WD-40 is a poor lubricant and bolt-loosener. About the only time I use it is to rinse a chain.

For freeing stuck fasteners, PB Blaster or Kroil works much, much better than both WD-40 and the CRC product:

Try the test on the front of the can(PB Blaster). It's no BS. I have had a ton of success however by mixing ATF and Marvel Mystery oil for things that are just stuck as fuck and letting it soak. Problem is, you can't spray it on.

Triflow is the best stuff ive used. 3x more than what everybody has already suggested, but I think its worth it since its a great all around lube as well.

This. No self respecting pro ever touches WD-40 unless it's an emergency.

PB blaster and aerokroil are the best products for what they claim to do and actually accomplish Period.

I have little experience with pb but part of our stock at work is aerokroil and it works incredibly well. I fix big airplanes for a living by the way.

CLP in my opinion is the best stuff ever. Every single bolt I have tried to free up to this day CLP had taken it off no problem. Its meant for guns, but I use it for a ton of stuff.

Wd40 is more of a cleaner to me than anything else.

I like triflow as a spray lube and also use the Pb blaster for stuck bolts

WD-40 has a mission in life, and it has little to do with penetrating stuck fasteners or lubricating anything. I find it works best in its original design role: dispersing water.

I use WD-40 on my hAlibut bait, weather it's squid, salmon heads or herring or a mixture of those they never go down without a good dose of the WD:thumbup. It's a great attracting scent:thumbup.

PB Blaster is the only thing I ever need with getting loose stuck bolts...honestly never touch WD-40 at all really, and I would have never thought to use it to get bolts unstuck at all lol
