NFL 2023

The Baker Mayfield redemption tour continues... :thumbup

The Browns are always... going... to... Brown, and they didn't even play today. :laughing

I think "fraud" is appropriate when it comes to the nfc east. What an embarrassment.

Houston at Ravens; 27 degrees and sunny so weather a minor factor.

GB at SF; 57 and cloudy so weather not a factor.

Tampa Bay at Detroit in a dome so weather not a factor.

KC at Bills; two cold weather teams so 23 degrees and partly cloudy is not a factor.

I expect all the home teams to win.

I don't think you are wrong, except Al Davis could never have dreamed of the kind of money Dallas has always had. Dallas has had the whole State of Texas and most the surrounding States as their market since inception. The Texans have been trying to get a piece of the pie for 20 years now, but haven't really been able to field a good enough team.

Yeah I fixed my typo on that. Al was the meddler without the money….I meant. Jerra is lavish by comparison. And the football mania in the state of Texas is well-known.

That’s why I was joking about their loss to Green Bay being America’s Game of the Week. And having that Ring of Honor bit broadcast at halftime so all of America, who desperately needed to see it, could watch. Jerry Jones wields a lot of power in the NFL to the point that it makes the rest of the league look stupidly weak by comparison. But that’s just a drive-by on my part, I dunno what else happens behind the scenes

Football Stadium Time Machine

"Every year Tony Romo has a great season and plays like a top 5 quarterback. Every year the Cowboy's make the playoffs with sky high expectations. Every year the Cowboys lose the first playoff game (as far as I know) with Tony Romo as quarterback. Will we ever question weather (sic) Tony Romo can play well under intense pressure?"

Ran a post from above through the WaybackMachine while in the jacuzzi and the above bubbled up to the surface.

I am not. The Cowboys are so over-represented media-wise it drives me frickin’ crazy. But you probably knew that.:laughing
It’s mean to be this way, but every time I see Jason Garrett on the panel I see the prototype of Cowboy-Raider stooge coach. For all I know, he was a good coach but..well, I doubt it.

How long before they put Leigh Diffey into NFL?

I'd like to see him removed from Track and Field, this is the 3rd sport I've had to deal with his particular form of crap.

Leigh is not bad on Motorsports.

I would agree with GAJ that home teams should win. Weather could still be a factor in Buffalo though.

This round of the playoffs are usually the best. Looking forward to it.

I don't think there is any fraud in there. There wasn't much expectation for them to do anything. The Eagles came out a little weaker than expected, but Dallas just did what Dallas always does. :laughing

All eyes have been on this being the Niners Ring to lose since like week 10.

The NFC East usually plays really well in the regular season and puts 2-3 Teams in the playoffs, but they don't usually win it all. That is just a normal level of Competition for the best Division in NFL History.

Pretty sure Baltimore has something to say about that.

Yeah, if it goes there, I think that should be a great game, but Baltimore is an AFC Team, so they have a fundamental recipe for Trash in their DNA.

I haven't watched green bay play. It looks like they came together towards the end of the season. It won't blow my mind if they pull the upset. I think this will be the tougher of the 2 potential playoff games. The lions d is no joke either. I can see a hiccup as a chance.

Really hoping the Ravens have a similar issue. The niners losing to the ravens, in a dome, in a sin city, again will be a sad story.

Gimmie a break, Since the inception of the Superbowel the score is:

AFC 28
NFC 29

And the AFC has won 6 of the last 10. But you're a Giants fan so, a bit delusional?

I'm hoping the Niners lose to the Packers this Saturday. Go Raiders!!

Even though I am a Niners fan, I think Green Bay has a decent chance of winning on Saturday, unless the score stays low and our running game prevails.

GB showed me that they are fast and smart in the defensive backfield. This means figuring out Purdy’s likely pass destinations and getting picks, which they certainly did against Dallas. And always, he is short and capable of getting his midfield passes knocked down by rushers.

Our backfield yields a lot of ground and if Love gets completions and runs up the score, well, the Niners and Shanahan have shown they have a very hard time making up in third and fourth quarter from behind.

If the score stays low, then a combo of McCaffrey runs, McCaffrey and Samuels screens and the occasional complete to Aiyuk and Kittle will win it. My best guess.

Even though Shanahan shows brilliance in line play execution (Xs and Os in confounding attacks), his offense is fairly predictable and everybody has had ample chance to study it. The losses by the Niners were instructive.

Delusional? Stuff and nonsense.

The only teams with any legacy in them in the AFC are the Colts and the Steelers, and the Steelers are the only ones with real history who have stayed competitive.

The rest of the AFC is a bunch of Johnny Comelately peasant teams from the 1960's or later.

Former Green Bay tight end Mark Chmura told his “Jen, Gabe, and Chewy” morning show co-hosts that they are “going to think I’m crazy” before he called on Packers defenders to intentionally commit penalties to send a message to Purdy.

“A 15-yard penalty — and I don’t condone this, but I kinda do in the playoffs — a 15-yard penalty for a late hit on Brock Purdy is not a bad thing, as long as it’s worth it,” Chmura said on ESPN Milwaukee on Wednesday.
That kind of shit should result in an immediate forfeit of the game for the team that pulls that kind of shit. :x

The Browns and Paul Brown might disagree.

Never mind that the Dolphins hold the only loss free run in the NFL.
