No more 11-99 Foundation plates

I love those 11-99 frames. I know if they can afford one of those that they can afford the citation and support me in my efforts to reduce crashes and fatalities! :thumbup

Believe me when I tell you that the military ID is NOT a get-out-of-jail-free card. :| I usually just get lectured how I should know better since I'm a representative of our nation.

I should note that since I became a NCO I never bothered trying that anymore so it's been a few years and I never did this in California. :laughing

Nothing pisses me off more then someone handing me their military ID card in order, or hopes, of getting out of a ticket.
Never tried myself, I usually prefered to hide it (I was embaressed about what I did for a living). The decal on my bike did work once. The mention of my destination in Alaska worked once too.

Works in Alaska. I got out once because my friend in the car had no other ID besides his military ID.

Embarrassed? How so?

It may work with some officers, but I don't really care for it. Honestly, it takes away from all the people serving our great country.

How is it any different than people flashing their department ID and expecting professional courtesy?

I agree.

Before I get hammered on whether or not I give breaks, everyone knows that every officer has.

Have I given military personnel breaks, sure, but come on, don't just throw it out there and EXPECT a break.

+1.

This pisses me off too. There are more subtle/professional ways of letting a fellow officer know your status than just handing them an ID card.

Because the card is so hard to copy (fake)?

That would take nerve.

It's almost like copying a CCW and making a fake one.
My CCW looks like a 3rd grader printed it up and laminated it. Seriously.

Should be stiff penalties for faking office police documents...

They do have a little badge that they carry.

There was this one time, in band camp, where I stopped an 1199 member for speeding (75 in a 50). Right off the bat he shows me the badge and expects, yes, EXPECTS, a break. As I was just about to write him up, I got a call of rollover crash on 17, so I really couldnt take the time to give him the ticket.

However, I did write down his info, and called my pal at the foundation. They pulled his membership, sent him a refund (10K), and booted him. There are ramifications for being an asshat to us lowly public servants.

Aside from the plate, you get a little badge thing in your wallet that shows you're a TRUE lifetime member...

I call BS. YOU left a 25 over cite to go take paper on a crash? Naw- too far out there...I don't buy it.:mad

Rollover crash on 17 with lanes blocked?!? You bet your bottom dollar I left.... rather give away a cite then take a fatal.

Yeah, he gave me a break cuz I showed him a lil :boobies

:blush

:laughing :laughing

Awww
I was going to ask!
...I have enormous fabulous breasties!! :teeth
(they defy the laws of physics, don't know how but they do)

Anyway I don't think that's why I've been given a break in the past I think there's something about having your license, registration, and insurance in order and greeting the officer with the "yes sir I am an idiot" attitude.

Not to mention they should already have a working knowledge of how "the system" works for ALL of society. :laughing
