are clearly addicting; so you see - it's really not my fault...
Name
key-tay
its been awhile......
well my regular group of moto hooligans has pretty much dissolved; some guys got old, some guys crashed out, some girls started racing and no longer ride street, some riders had kids and are never to be seen again. some guys simply got a girlfriend and are never to be seen again... Only the hardcore addicts with death wishes still remain. looking for new meat that is up to par, and hopefully local so that similar repeat events can occur in the future...

This is an ADVANCED PACE RIDE ONLY. if you've never dragged knee, you likely arnt fast enough to keep pace. if you've never ridden these roads, please for the love of god dont show up to this ride. if you are unsure of your worthyness, you are welcome to show up and try, but know that if you crash we WILL stop to make sure you arnt dead, but the rest of the ride will continue shortly after your mortality is confirmed (or not). Ride will stop at all turn points to account for everyone. a mandatory buddy system will be employed and enforced. FULL LEATHER GEAR is highly recommended, and a 600cc+ motorcycle is pretty much a requirement. no supermotos, no minis. just not fast enough *generally*...back inthe day, there was this guy named Bergman who used to show up on a 300cc scooter, and he'd whop half the sportbikes - sooooo anything in possible i suppose

MEET AT 8:30am, kickstands up 9am SHARP!!!
This ride waits for NO MAN (but if you are a super hawt chick, me might wait. OK thats a lie, we wont.)
Meet in Cordelia gas station / starbucks
4490 Central Way Suite 100
Fairfield, CA 94534

Standard loop. Lunch in Calistoga at Busters. expect to return to start point by 3:30 or 4:30ish

There is another group meeting up at 8:30am at the same spot, you most likely know some of them at least (you have done track days with them)

But hey, reagrdless ride safe, 2 or so weekends ago, there were reports that Berryessa had 1-2 heli rides + just one regular motobike crashes.. all in one day

^^^^^^^^^^
Thanks for the heads up!
with that said, meet time changed to 8:30 ! :loco
KSU 9am

i dont want to butt myself into their ride, nor any random barfer who i dont know and cant vouch for. So we will see who shows up, and if a few peeps do , then i'll likely just host/lead this here group separately

woot, see you there man - i’ll be on my black RR (sweeping), knowing all others in the group 😅😳🫣

^^^ were good times. times long gone...

well guess this deserves a 'well what happened?' report...
well NO ONE showed up as a result of this thread. not a single person. not even a hawt chick that we wouldnt have waited for.

the ride that was previously to meet at that spot did show up, and I joined with them. All 45+y/o dudes, most 50+. i'm 46 so i'll stfu i guess. were about 8 of them, maybe 3 sportbikes. all were reasonably fast enough, no complains there. but not a single , not a solitary - younger ish person. sad days folks.... even sadder than that, there was no pre-ride talk nor rules established; at the first turn the leader of the group (also not officially established) made no attempt to wait for the trailers of the group to catch up. as a result it didnt feel like a group ride, it felt like a group of ppl met up at starbucks and meh kinda decided to leave at the same time and meh kinda will regroup at some stop points. just not a lotta 'group' going on, most of the ride I didnt have a bike behind nor ahead of me in sight. sorry, but I gotta call that "pathetic". no group comradery, just 2 or 3 clicks of guys within a larger group that didnt make much of an effort to stick together. sad sad sad. in europe, similar level riders all have voice coms, they stay together as a pack and help each other pass cars, with the lead guys radioing back to the tail guys as to when its OK to pass (on coming traffic info). we are literally dead opposite of that here in the united states of individualism........ uggg

total lack of youth. its just sad that the younger generation either isnt interested in sportbikes, and/or they simply dont have the money to do it. i suspect the latter is the primary reason. the sport isnt getting cheaper (quite the opposite), and the younger generation aint getting ahold of money any time soon (read: likely never). maybe the younger gen are getting bikes then doing high speed freeway runs and the cameras are getting them, ticket, fine, lose interest or financial ability to be in the sport. maybe they just dont bother to begin with. i dunno. i wouldnt blame them either way.

its a changing sport. no. its a changed sport.
i see the same thing happening with the track crew. all 45+y/o guys on their fancy literbikes with their fancy trailers and big trucks. very few young people, and the ones that are present either clearly have an insanely well paying job (or money coming in from other places), or they are on a shoe string budget, and rarely last more than a year or two.

/rant
ive always wished i was born 15 years younger (at least), always felt like i "missed the boat" opportunity wise. guess i did OK. woulda been 10x worse to be born 15 years later...

ok really, /rant

Good ride @SpeedyCorky ! I had to split at the TC! I enjoyed observing your riding lines, for as little time as i could see you 😅

Hope we can ride again ..!!
thanks man. been on those roads 25 years :ride
yea i'd be down to go out w/ u cats again, i think ya all need a good pre-ride lecture beforehand tho godamnit lolzzz <3

yeah maybe i'm barking up the wrong tree.... i gotta go hang at the monthly cyclegear events... and yes there is now a new starbucks literally 50 yards from cyclegear :D

There's always the hope that chit chat is a gateway to actual riding

Last Tuesday at Cycle Gear they had a "bike of the night" contest between 3 bikes picked out of the crowd.
Then we had a chance to throw a couple of old helmets into a stack of tires from 20 feet. Winners got $50 I think.

After I left they had a slow speed race. Dave Moss is there from time to time tuning suspensions for $75 but he was absent last Tuesday.

Lots of people standing around talking or buying food at the taco truck + In and Out is in the same parking lot. A few other vendors are there for various stuff but there could be a lot more.

I live 3 miles away so I have no excuse. One guy I was talking to on a beautiful new BMW S1000RR M version comes from Berkeley all the way to Pleasanton to attend.
He was wearing a full leather Dainese race suit so I guess he's serious? I dunno.
