13 Street Triple R
Hello, I thought I would stop by and introduce myself. My name is Yvonne and I moved to the Northern Cali area from AZ. I currently ride a '13 Street Triple, that I am still getting used to, just over a 1500 miles now. I have been riding off and on for about 8 years but recently found track days. I have completed 2 now :teeth. Anyway, really dig the forum so decided to register.

Yvonne

SILVER!

Welcome fellow triple rider!! :wave

:newbie and to the B.A. Yvonne ! Howdy & good to have you active among us on BARF. Been riding 8 years, 2 track days, eh? The fun and passion must have set in... AND got you hooked HARD, no ?

Good that there already is a BARFlympic committee welcoming ya ! Good to hear you dig your favorite new bikers forum ! :thumbup

Check out : Group Rides >>> MGR (mellow group ride) <<< no :bs :ride's and Social Gatherings to meet lotsa CHILL peeps on BARF.

Speaking of Social Gatherings... mark your calendar for one of this year biggest event, i.e., Barf Bash 2014 -- August 24 Sunday -- Menlo Park -- 11am - 5pm

Twisties around the B.A. ? There's Alice (84 & 35), one big bikers' landmark and Hwy 9 & 1, 84, 35 ! Lots more other twisties : Mt Ham(ilton) Rd, Mt. Tam(alpais) Rd, Beryessa, RWR (Red Wood Road), and "The Wall" << another Riders' landmark above Berkeley & Oakland Hills with great view of the Bay, looking West? ... and the list goes on....

There are quite a few BARFers in the North Bay... so you can definitely hook up with us for a group ride .... SOON !!

Post up pic(s) of your triple cuz you KNOW that peeps WILL ask, right? :teeth

Don't know how familiar you already are with the forum layout, various sub-forums but... here's a "road map" for yer tank bag that ( the same welcoming schpiel I give to ALL ) : :laughing

Check out the Vintage Cafe sub forum ! I betcha you'll love it ! If you wrench or wanna learn to wrench, Moto Shop (used to be in South City -- I talked to Wilder and met Aleks there) is a great place for you to hang out. They are a BARF sponsor and they just moved to Potrero Hill in the City. You can bring your bike there to work on with their tools, etc.

If you are searching for a ride, and if you wanna get bike from a fellow BARFer, we've got our own classified : Moto for Sale. CL (Craig List) has lots of bikes for sale, just be careful of scams on there : NEVER pay with a money order and it would be good to check out your bike with someone in the know, a BARFer or a friend !

Also check out : Trackdays, , 1Rider, Training, Garage... and the stickies on top of this sub-thread 'Newbies' as well >> will save ya lots of time and energy and make sure you start / continue riding ATGATT ! At times, free gear could be had under Riding Gear , else they are very reasonably priced!!! ;) >>> jacket, riding pants, gloves, boots, lids, 1pc, 2pc .... <<< You can start collecting or continue to amass more .... gear !!!! :laughing

As to gear, take advantage of all the moto gear shops in SF and all over the BA to go in to try on for size and comfort (jackets, riding pants & lids). To name a few : the D-store (Dainese store) & Scuderia West in the city; CG (Cycle Gear) all over the BA; Road Rider in SJ and Santa Clara Motorcycle in Sunnyvale. Nobody minds if you walk around the store with a lid on to get a feel for comfort and fit. Ask lots of questions to the staff about gear. :afm199 <<< LOL I just added this paragraph to this greeting. :cool

I like General = 'Anything and everything to do with motorcycles.' >>> good stuffs and Kitchen Sink = 'If you're not sure where to post, post here' >>> entertaining stuffs :teeth

Read up some posts, be active, join a ride, even create your own ride (with time and route) and post it up in Group Rides. :afm199

IMPORTANT: If you need help on the road >>> post in 'General' and BARF Roadside Angels will come to your rescue !! RT Russ was referring to this as Connie is our BARF Roadside Angel Leader.

Please ALSO refer to BARF Terms Of Service (the blue hot spot at the top right of this BARF screen -- next to "Donate" and also at the bottom right of this very post in my sig or click here : T.O.S.. -- or any mod's sig) to be familiar with forum rules. One such rule: newbies are NOT able to post in the Classifieds during the first 30 days of joining.

Oh... the "SEARCH" key can be useful to look for information in this forum ! It's the last hotspot top right of the screen or click here >>> Search

Don't hesitate to ask questions in the forum or via PM ( private message ). :twofinger

Cheers, see ya out there :ride SAFE with a :teeth and :wave

Show us that Triple! I want one! Did you ride the track days with the Triumph?

Welcome Yvonne. And yes, pictures please

Thank you for the welcome. To answer a previous question, yes, I did take the street triple to the track. It's a great bike, very easy to lean, it goes in very smoothly and was very stable. The bike is a lot of fun. Hopefully the pic attaches.

napa's a good place to land, nice bike too. north-bay roads are thee best in bay area, another good reason to live in Napa. If you need anything for it, shout out to Alan Rider at sportbike goddamits in Petaluma, Hes on Barf and SBR and does excellent work .

Thanks for the info on a shop, I have been looking for a great shop to maintain the Striple and a GSXR. It's been difficult so been going to the stealerships.

Welcome to the forum. Enjoy your time here. Definitey a great bike. Hope to see you around the lake. Also I'm pretty sure Alan closed up the Petaluma shop and moved out of the area a couple years ago.
