The king holding court, I think that's John Ulrich interviewing him. Is there anything duct tape can't do?

John Koczinski on the Cagiva, 1993. I'm not sure what is more unbelievable; that he was teammates with Mladin & Chandler, or that he won the race on a bike that wasn't supposed to be competitive!

Roberts in the international factory Yamaha colors of the time, 1981, when his teammate was Barry Sheene in the GP's.

Again, thank you everyone for the super kind responses.

Wayne Gardner was the only non-American to wear the number 1 from 1983-1994, I sure wish we could dominate like that again!

Doohan, 1994. I think he had just won his first world championship the round before, but I remember reading that he let Kevin keep the Number 1 on his bike for his "home" GP.

Can't change competition number during the season, gotta wait to the next season starts! '93 champ Schwantz was wearing the #1 plate for the entire 1994 season whether Doohan approved of it or not. :cool

:thumbup Thank you very much for sharing those pics. I hope you have more. :teeth

this is one of the best threads I've ever seen and really drives home the reason why were all here (on barf)
