Old USGP Photos

That sucks. I hope eBay takes action against the seller. Sorry you are having to deal with this.

I was thinking of just emailing the guy and ask him why he was selling copies of other peoples photos. I don't make money on photos so it is not like I suffered any loss, I just thought it was an uncool thing to do.

The matter has been resolved through a couple of emails.

My pics from 88-90 were pretty bad, I bought a Canon EOS 630 and a 100-300mm lens for the race in 91 and noticed I could get
alot better pics then I could with my old Manual focus Nikon and JC penny's finest zoom lens. I went and practiced panning at the club races at Willow springs here in So. California before the 94 USGP and got alot better at it.
The 250cc bikes were pretty easy for me but the 500's are a so much faster.

I approve of this picture. :thumbup

The guy said he bought a large lot of photos at an auction, and mine was in it. I have no reason to doubt him and he offered to stop selling it.:thumbup

I love Google image search, it had been a few years since I did one for any of my photos.
Google doesn't find everything but it finds a lot. It didn't find my Jakub Smrz Toyota 200 pic that I posted on this site but it found it being used in on a website selling video headrests, the pic is so small and blurry I let it go, I didn't put my name on the pic either although it is in the EXIF data.

Glad he offered to stop selling. I see the auction is still active. I wonder why someone thought he could sell a photo for which he didn't have ownership.

Really love your photos, Wayne! Found one of your Schwantz images posted on a FB forum with your name on it and someone directed me here to find you. Just sent you a PM! :thumbup

Wayne, looking at these pictures, I realized that I might have met you back in 1993 when I was working at Photo Drive-up in San Jose, CA in the photo lab. If it was you, you were making enlargements of Schwantz and Lawson and I was helping you fill the order. It was the week before the USGP and I remember you breaking the news of Rainey's accident. Anyway, thanks for posting these. I still have some of the throw aways from that day!

It was not me, I made my own enlargements at home, never been to San Jose.

What a fantastic thread! I have been to all the motorcycle races at Laguna Seca since 88 as well. About a dozen of us still make the pilgrimage and camp every year. We even had the same camping spot for 23 years, but that changed when MotoGP left. Those pictures brought it all back! Those were the golden years! Thank you so much for sharing.

Wayne.

Most epic barf shite!!! :thumbup

My love for you is broingly strong.
Honestly. So appreciated. :hail
