Wondering if anyone can recommend some padded bicycle shorts or motorcross shorts which i can wear under pants to keep my butt and upper legs from hurting from spending a lot of time on my GSXR seat. Thanks

Go to the Pearl Izumi outlet in Vacaville. They have great deals... I get most my cycling soft gear there.

Thanks. Any recommendation on a brand so that i can buy from an online source. I live in Sac and would like to aviod a trip to Vacaville if possible. Also were you able to notice a big difference when you started earing them? Thanks

YMMV, but the soft chamois shorts never worked for me, for bicycling or riding. It didn't provide any support, and was just more thick cloth to chafe.

I like Voler - they have really firm chamois that does a better job (for me) of protecting my soft bits. Also, if you're a dude, consider bib bicycling shorts; I've heard from those who own packages that the bib shorts do a better job of tucking those away and staying put.

Pearl Izumi. My recommendation is to buy 1 size larger than you would buy if you were actually using them for cycling. I'm a medium in a padded compression short on a bicycle, but I wear a large when I'm riding my moto. Much more comfortable.

Thanks for all the advise. I do not think that i have an issue with monkey butt, but i start to feel sore on my butt and upper legs after about 250 miles.

There are magic. Sure, at first you feel like a Dominican taxi driver, but when your ass still isn't sore after 500 miles you love the beaded seat.

One small thing that makes a big difference are your undies. I have always been a tighties whities guy:rolleyes Never liked boxers and setting on my balls.:thumbdown But the seam edge on the briefs felt like a 2x4 after 300 miles. A friend asked why I was pulling on my ass when I got off the bike! and I said to pull back my shorts. He said get some boxer briefs and you will not be setting on the seam. Hot damn I will not take a long ride with out them anymore:teeth:ride

Don't know what it is about the Aerostitch suit but I just don't seem to get the sore butt when wearing it.

Check out ROCKY MOUNTAIN ATV. I have 2 pairs (1 for dirt, 1 for street) & my son has a pair. Long lasting and cheap.

I doubt bicycle shorts are going to help you much. They are designed to put some padding between your sit bones and the hard seat of your bicycle. On a motorcycle where your legs are wrapped around the larger seat and tank, it's probably just going to feel awkward. Some compression shorts may help the experience, but if your seat is killing you then you need a better seat.

thanks for all the input. i purchased a pair of the ldcomfort compression shorts. Will see if it helps.

Plan B is to get some of the ones of Rocky Mountain ATV as teardog recommended.

Nope, they make a big difference. They double my riding distance by delaying the time it takes for any hotspots to develop. Buy one size large than you'd cycle with and they are a godsend. I wear em under my riding pants on the street and under my leathers on the track and they make riding much more comfortable. They only downside is that a good pair that lasts cost a lot.

What hotspots are we talking about here? The only hotspot I get is the spot between my balls and my brownstar, lol. My butt cheeks/bones themselves aren't the problem.
