PETA Kidnaps and Kills Dog

Penn and Teller's Bullshit did a good piece on them.
The Director (or former director) of PETA is a diabetic and had no problem using porcine insulin. Justified it by saying it allowed her to live to "carry out her important work."

Just running around snatching up pets so they can kill them is a form of pure evil imo.

edit: funny, I see Roman linked the show whil I was typing this

From my link above. Let's hope this is just the beginning of other states getting involved against those fucktards.

The Virginia Senate has passed a bill aimed at preventing PETA from killing dogs and cats at their headquarters in Norfolk.

PETA nominally operates a "shelter" in Virginia, which has killed well over 30,000 animals. As I reported yesterday, in 2014, PETA slaughtered over 88% of the dogs and cats taken in. A number of years have seen PETA's kill rate as high as 97%. The VA Senate has been weighing measures to stem this madness.

Senate Bill 1381 was voted on today, with 33 in favor, and 5 opposed. Should this bill pass in the House, section 3.2-6500 of the Code of Virginia will be amended to include language further defining a private animal shelter. A "shelter" will no longer be able to summarily kill the vast majority of animals taken in, because that term will designate: "a facility operated for the purpose of finding permanent adoptive homes and facilitating other lifesaving outcomes for animals."

My girlfriend is a PETA sympathizer. I will have to ask her about this.

Also, I think no statute is needed to sue PETA for all sorts of things like trespass, intentional infliction of emotional distress, misappropriation of property, etc.

Reading this I am so pissed off.

I can't believe this shit is allowed to happen who are these fucking creeps?

:mad:mad:mad:mad:mad:mad:mad:mad:mad:mad:mad:mad:mad:mad:mad

Because they are retarded and likely don't even get what PETA really stands for. Or they're full on psychotic.

I always thought it stood for people eating tasty animals. :teeth It appears that too many people who like animals are duped into supporting this fraud of an organization.

Dump her.

Or just ask PETA to stop by and pick her up. :laughing

This story is nuts. So PETA's strategy is to target the disadvantaged? :rolleyes :thumbdown

Edit: Just found this. WTF!!!

PETA Kidnapped And Killed My Dog,’ Says Distraught Pet Owner

Unfortunately for Cerate, Commonwealth of Virginia attorney Gary R. Agar saw no basis for criminal charges, noting that there had been some livestock threats posed by smaller animals in the area.

“Unfortunately the Chihuahua wore no collar, no license, no rabies tag, nothing whatsoever to indicate the dog was other than a stray or abandoned dog. It was not tethered nor was it contained…. More clearly stated, with the evidence that is available to the Commonwealth it is just as likely that the two women believed they were gathering abandoned and/or stray animals rather than stealing property (dog) of another. Indeed, it is more probable under this evidence that the two women associated with PETA that day believed that they were gathering animals that posed health and/or livestock threat in the trailer park and adjacent community. Without evidence supporting the requisite criminal intent, no criminal prosecution can occur.

okay, but why?

PETA does not believe one should have pets.
This. Exactly correct.

I've read many, many similar stories. I read once that the reasoning behind this is that at some point, the animal MAY suffer so PETA thinks it's ethical to kill them immediately.

Fuck PETA, and fuck the HSUS. Give money to local shelters to help. I cannot say it enough, FUCK PETA AND THE HSUS.

Agreed 100%

There are lots of stories like this. PETA denies it up and down.

FWIW my understanding is this is newer development in leadership at PETA. They have been doing it for a little while now but the leadership has only relatively recently become so extreme in their better to kill then have them enslaved.

Not to mention the short sighted strategy, in that the person will likely grieve and then acquire another pet.

fuck them.

When the only tool in your bag is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

Pet ownership is enslavement. Enslavement is suffering. Suffering bad. Can't let them run free in the wild cuz it will get diseased/eaten/hit/whatever. So, stick a needle in 'em and "set them free" essentially.

There are gradients of PETA supporters. I have run into a lot of people who claim to support PETA but really know little to nothing about them. Dig into them a bit and you might find that they are really off the deep end. So, you have people who are "yay animal rights, yay PETA" all the way to the PETA hardcore who essentially believe that the world would be better off if people weren't here. Now, I realize that is debatable and maybe true, but I'm not ready to have some psycho hippie bish come take my cat and kill him because she thinks he is suffering.

As for their so-called shelters, it's not even that they don't want to house stray/lost/unwanted pets, it's that they don't think pets should even be. Modern dogs exist because of humans. Same with house cats. They wouldn't even exist if people did not interfere with nature. I think that is their justification for their wholesale slaughter. They don't want to re-home pets, that is not their goal.

The greatest evolutionary advantage? Being useful to humans.

WTF??!! Seriously? I did not know that. They run around abducting people's pets and killing them?!!

That's some sick shit. :nchantr

Actually, there is a pretty good body of evidence that suggests that humans became civilized because of dogs. National Geo did a full issue on this a few years ago and it is pretty enlightening.

There May be something to that but the multitude of breeds that exist wouldn't without human intervention. Chihuahuas are not a thing of nature. :laughing
