Phoenix, the hot place

That is not the weather maps I'm seeing day to day.
102 in Oct, not that far off Phoenix normal here, 113 Oct 7th last year.
I can see the rest of the country crying, though.
Gonna slow the fall color change, , ,

These maps have been right most of the summer,
This one shows the rain central to the Colorado River,
Storms are up from the Pacific, hitting Calif first, then sliding east, last two weeks.
Early season monsoon, the south east corner of Az, gets all the rain. Weather is moving.

Monsoon time frame must be an insurance thing, to make it all neat and tidy, for the insurance underwriters. It's gonna leak out when this hits, a week late and all.

just going to say when it's raining in Arizona stay out of the wash

Establishing records here,
Fall of 2024 has been recorded the driest of all recorded, I got 6 months of blasted summer.
Fall of 2025 has been recorded the wettest of all recorded, the greenest, loved it all.

Now is the time for leaf peeping in Az.
Oak Creek Canyon, all the way down into Cottonwood,

Temps are gonna climb, again.
Interesting difference between LA, and Phoenix, both are going to hit 80*
but,
LA loves the concept of 80 *, fully embraces it, in Dec. "give us more, , ,"

Phoenix, wants low temps for winter, just to HAVE a winter, , ,
Looking for overnite temps in the 40s/50s , to make it real.
Seasonal relief from the high overnite lows, of summer, in the 90's

Sat nite tree lighting, Cottonwood.
Nowhere near the pomp & ceremony I enjoyed in Vacaville.
but,
Room for improvement, , ,

No amplification, hard to hear, xmas song or two, a short speech, and a switch flipped, on.
Xmas parade cancelled due to repaving Main Street.

Xmas, feelin Grinchy

New Years,

Dropping ALL over Arizona, , ,

Flagstaff was the only, for many years.
this year 2026, had a few more.

Williams has a town parade car it uses, Route 66 anny. is coming.

Tucson has a taco drop,

Prescott sportin' a Cowboy boot,
and
Yuma, the land of winter leafy greens, a head of cabbage/lettuce, falls.

I have an idea, a grape bunch, falling from a local Winery/Trattoria, downtown, here in Cottonwood.
I've got to make this happen.

Is the Taco drop in Tucson like WKRP did in Cincinnati? :laughing
