Phone Mounts - What do you use?

Ram. X-grip. Never an issue and I ride a lot of goat trails.

I saw a youtube video a while back titled something like "$800 Wheelie'.

I've looked for it to post in this thread, but couldn't find it again. Anyway, this guy does a standup wheelie and when he comes down the X-Grip drops his iPhone onto the road.

Wow. Not sure if that's evidence of a poor X-Grip hold on his iPhone or evidence that he really needs to learn to touch down from wheelie. :wtf

My Ram X holds the phone just fine while wheeling, naturally KTM likes to be on one wheel and never an issue.....but then there are miles of suspension travel to soften a landing :)

I look at a map before I leave, maybe draw myself a cartoon, then head out. I get a bit lost sometimes, but hey, I learn something in the process. Old school. GPS is for pansies.

I had an X grip on my bike for a while. Didn't like how it blocked part of my gauges. The Quad Lock design looks a bit better in that regard since it's smaller but I don't want to have to use their case or stick a thing on the back of my phone.

I found it easier to just listen to the GPS directions through headphones/headset rather than having to look at the screen anyways.

I meant, do vibrations cause your phone act funny when off the bike? Because I've heard that the vibrations can break some internal parts over time.

Been using an X-grip for awhile now and not real happy with its ability to rock back and forth a bit. I modded it to minimize the wobble but it still messes up video big time. I just took a chance on this (what da hell for the price!) and it is outstanding. Very secure, stout and the redundant red keeper is a great. I don't need the tether I use on my X-grip. Crazy price, especially compared to grossly overpriced RAM stuff.

Ditto

I use Ram mounts. I have the attachment ball on three of my bikes and use their double socket arm to attach a holder for either a phone or GPS.

Nice to be able to use one holder and transfer it to whatever bike I'm riding.

^^ This! ^^

I just installed this on a WR with 75 mile range :laughing

My buddy uses the ram x with the river elastic holder thingy. I use my pocket. Neither of us have lost a phone yet. (Though I did smash one during an off)
