Photos of your bike on location

I used to pick my daughter up from school on a shiny and loud GSXR. She told me the ceremony of removing "her" helmet before stepping on the peg and hopping on behind me was the stuff legends are made from. I still recall the varied faces of reaction. The looks of pure awe from the kids and the looks of pure disapproval from the entitled soccer moms both made my day.
Good stuff,
Thanks for the flashback, Enchanter.
(she's 32 now and still talks about those days)

Unfortunately my kids have had very different reactions to being picked up or drop by dad on the bike. The girls especially don't like having to suit up (I generally make them wear all the gear). They all (my son included) don't associate any "cool factor" with it. In fact, my younger daughter asks that I drop her off down the street from where she needs to be so her friends don't see her :(. Maybe the problem is that I'm riding a V-strom rather than a "shiny and loud GSXR".

Featherville to Atlanta

It has been at least two years since I rode over the pass between Featherville and Atlanta. I finally got around to making that ride - solo this time.

I've seen plenty of cattle riding around Idaho, but sheep are much less common. The guy herding them between Pine and Featherville was having a tough time keeping them in the right lane on the road.

If you slipped off of the edge of this road the bike would end up several hundred feet down the slope. This road goes up a very steep hillside.

The top of the road looking north toward Atlanta. Those mountains in the background are all designated as wilderness. It's a bit over 7700 ft here.

FWIW....I wasn't cool....the bike was.
You may be on to something.

A week on the road, this is Yosemite, a walk in, backpacking/bicycle camp, Moto's qualify !
There is a small lake here, after setup, I wandered that way. Came across a camp that had just been Bear tossed. nobody there.
Down @ the lake, a woman was wandering, no pack, I asked about her camp.
She told me, I passed it, I told her what happened, and gave her an out. If she needed stuff and a place to camp she was welcome @ mine
.
I have been there, beared ! A long ago week, backpacking thru the Yosemite high country, I was raided, and was still three days out, on trail before I "returned" to Camp Curry. I had to scrounge thru the mauled camp, salvaging anything to eat, and regroup my camp and hike on.

We patched up a dinner, and called the day "an adventure".
I was on my way to a biker rally in Yerington Nv.
Big doin's there that weekend, The Clampers were in town to dedicate a hotel, Bronze Plaque Ceremony.
and Bikes, The whole town was seeing RED, for the rally shirts were matching the Clampers, RED.
All in the center of town, park.

This was my experience with our daughter. She didn't want the attention. Funny story...

Wife and I are talking to parents our daughter's classmate. Bring up the subject of skiing. Let's go together some weekend. They say,

"We don't ski."

I immediately put one-and-another-one together and ask father if he owns a motorcycle. He does not.

Seems their daughter was a fabricator. She had told our daughter that they skied, and her dad gave her rides on his motorcycle. Really bright kid but spun a me-too tale with every story she heard in the schoolyard and classroom.
