The 2003 was the same as the 2002 R1 (side pipe, suction-type injection TB's):

2004-05 were functionally indentical (underseat pipes, ram air, 5-spoke wheels, projector lenses added to the headlights, radial front brakes, etc):

damn that bike is awesome - looks great with the yellow stripes on the wheels :cool

looks a lot like a GP bike to me in the middle pic.. especially if it didn't have the mirrors.

That slashcut exhaust must be hideously loud :wtf

Not as much as you might think. The 06 R6 seems to get most of its silencing in the collector box under the engine. There's almost no baffling or silencing material inside the stock canister, at least not compared to one of the old-fasioned side-mount canisters like you see on the 05 bike.

I listened to that when you posted over on the R6 forums. ;-)

Good stuff. Shoot me a PM and maybe we can hook up this weekend?

Damn - wish I could ride this weekend but my schedule is all booked up. but for sure im down - just keep me in mind for any other rides. BTW - love your bike! I just ordered my Seat Cowel - can't wait!
