You can make something like 50/ bikes a year and it does not have to be compliant. iirc. I read that somewhere.

As I recall, JJ got popped by CARB for selling non-legal bikes a couple years ago.
So exactly when officials start ticketing aftermarket exhausts which don't meet EPA? I just got 2003 SV1000 and am thinking about aftermarket Yoshimura. I see MANY motorcycles with loud pipes still. Some Harley or Jp-made Harley look alike are so loud but they don't seem to get any tickets...not too many of them anyway. My buddy, however, got a fix-it ticket for using a short pipe he bought off eBay. He wasn't using the decibel killer so his GSXR was extremely loud. Still it was as loud as most straight piped Harley.
