Plasti dip

Just to share- I just plasti dipped my bike and sprayed real paint over it to get the color. Then I added on the white vinyl decals, and used real paint gloss over every thing. It was actually a lot of work and some areas are not perfect (not visible in picture) but I got some bumps and un-smooth surfaces. I also tested to see that everything peels off perfectly back to stock OEM since I had to remove and re-do some fairings. Just be sure to coat many layers of plasti dip so that the real paint doesn't eat through to the stock paint. Overall I'm satisfied with the outcome! I'm kind of scared that some parts will start to peel off form the edges though, since Plasti dip does peel easily.

I'm really diggin' the orange OP. :thumbup I've been thinking about spraying my WR250x plastics white one of these days.

I'm a bit of a plasti-dip whore myself. Been playing with this stuff for years.

Wow, the picts are GREAT, and it makes it uber easy to make a bike POP with some crazyass colours, without committing the bike to a life of... omg, that looks like @ss
:laughing

Is there anything you can add to the top layer I plasti dip to help it last a little longer?

I love plastidip, but call me (cr/l)azy... I'd be too afraid of it peeling from an accidental rub and having to take it off and do it again.

Looks great though!

The coating on my riser ripped a little bit after i installed it. I sprayed it in the ripped spot after it was already installed on the bike and it patched flawlessly

I posted pics above. It was right under the top right (when sitting on the bike) bolt on the riser

That's not visible enough for me to make an accurate judgement. I disapprove. :laughing

But seriously, I guess I'm just sort of a perfectionist with things I do/change to my bike. It would bug me to no end just knowing I had to redo it, even if it did look fine. =/

You just had a kid, right?

That attitude will change, quick. :laughing

My neighbor was spray painting his Audi A4 matt white with Plastidip in his garage yesterday. That was the first I heard of this product then I searched and found this thread. Seems like a very easy (low risk/cost) way to chagne the color/looks of bikes ...

update:
