"Please Be Patient--Student Driver" Stickers WTF?!!?

Agreed. I hate anyone that has one of those baby on board stickers on their car. I usually cut them off if possible and brake check them.

Not anything new, some kid driving around with an instructor in the car. In Japan they have a "wakaba" which means new leaf that all new drivers display on your car. It likes the one on my avatar picture. They even have ones for seniors too.

The large "L" plate required in the UK on the front and rear of vehicles driven by those with a provisional license, including motos, are not necessarily a bad idea.

Never fly in the US or course.

you're making me feel old, these stickers/placards have been around forever.

Somewhat ironically, the baby on board signs came over from Europe and the Autobahn to inform first responders of the potential for kids in the car when they respond to a horrific crash.
American soccer moms took that ball and ran with it, often while driving like absolute dipshits themselves.

Holy shit, I've always wondered what the heck that sticker meant! :rofl I always though it was one the most pointless proclamations to put on one's car.

When my dad was teaching my sisters to drive our Volvo wagon he bought a bumper sticker that said "CAUTION: Rookie Clutch Driver", and it seemed to work... :laughing

By the time it was my turn the sticker was gone and dad told me to take the car and go practice in the high school parking lot, and if the cops stopped to tell them to come see him.... :( :laughing

All things considered, I wouldn't mind an "L" plate/sticker system like in England.

i noticed an increasingly alarming rate of incompetent drivers on roads, seemingly of all ages.. highways and roads are most definitely much much more densely populated..

some people lack simple courtesy, common sense or just how to drive..:thumbdown:facepalm

try to go around them and be merry ..

My theory on this, a lot of people are not spatially aware, not just in driving, but in life and as a result they require way more time to process inputs and get overwhelmed. I think spatial awareness can be learned, but these folks never learned it. I also think it's important to learn it young, make it muscle memory, but the average age of people learning to drive is getting older.

When my dad taught me to drive, every stall he would say "It's a clutch not a switch.". :laughing

If I’m not mistaken, new drivers in the UK and elsewhere in Europe* are required to display an L placard [or local equivalent] on their cars.

*which the UK is geographically still very much a part of, whether they like it or not.

Ya know what Whammy absolutely hates is these things..
Parents put these things up in the middle of the street and tell their kids to go in the street and draw with sidewalk chalk. When cars come down the street they all jump out of their lawn chairs and stare you down. F-ing ridiculous. When they are done playing the stoooooooooooopid ass parents leave them in the street. What is it with parents these days they don't teach their kids that playing in the street is dangerous, and when you see a car you need to get your ass out if the street. Yall know Game on no cars. Game off get out of the street like right now. Whats worse is years ago I actually hit one of these things at 2am while driving my brodozer. Scared the hell out of me.

There's a sign by my house that tries to do the same thing and it's made to look like an official street sign but the spacing and orientation aren't done very well so the sign looks like it's warning drivers there are stupid kids in the area. :laughing

CAUTION SLOW KIDS AT PLAY

Really? they cant post signs like that, I've seen deaf children at play but those were put up by the city. In my neighborhood the parents will walk into the street and make gestures for you to slow down when cars come by, or worse yet ive seen them make that arms open what are you doing or what ya gonna do gestures. Talk about trying to start something... SMH
What happened to taking your kids to the park?

I’d like to have a few bumper stickers made that say, “Distracted Driver,” follow drivers to their destinations and label their cars.

Kelly actually hits those things on purpose. :laughing
