The fog has nestled nicely in the canyon of cats wild.

They implemented a new format for expenses at work and today was the first time I've used it. Instead of one Excel sheet for cash + credit we now use two sheets that are 100% the same except for the title so WHY AREN'T ALL THE COLUMNS AND ROWS AND FONT SIZES THE SAME SIZE ON BOTH FORMS WHO THE FUCK MADE THIS GARBAGE so I saved a copy on my computer and spent a half hour fixing that shit.
Also found two critical omissions in their formulas. :x

KQED online / radiowaves with story of the silli CONe valley. actually not the silicone, but the Apple Records story. I K IK many of you are not silicones, but for some of us, huge connection to being in the region

Morning Postho's

I discovered I needed glasses at 31yo at about midnight on Willow Springs Raceway during a 24 hour race. Things were fuzzy in the dark at 140mph. I was stupified as the year before I had no problem.

The only daytime hours I wear glasses is riding the moto because at distance I want sharp vision... things come up fast at 40mph. :teeth

Still don't need readers. I will wear glasses at night while driving if I am not around home base and need to read the signs.
:wave

I blame being on the computer 24/7 during high school for my near sightedness, though my dad has it as well so :dunno

When I first started racing I stopped wearing my glasses. I thought it was a good way to stop focusing on things so close and move my vision out further. I am aware that near sightedness means...I can't see out further :laughing but it's a race track, I don't need to read to race...right?

So that lasted a couple of races until my coach asked me about turn in points on a particular corner. I told him I couldn't really say exactly where the turn in was because I didn't have a good landmark, it just 'felt' right. He told me I was a dumbass and to put my glasses back on. Told me to choose an exact point and keep it consistent to develop the feeling and muscle memory of what is the correct place and speed. Well that was a good idea, because I went out and ripped a 1:48 around Sonoma without too much fuss shortly thereafter. Thank you Dave 🙏

I now wear either contacts or glasses when operating a vehicle, and my CA DL says corrective lenses :cry BUT THATS NOT MY FAULT THEY MESSED UP AT THE DMV I WAS JUST THERE TO GET MY REAL ID AND THEY MADE ME RETAKE THE TEST AND MESSED UP MY NAME DO NOT GO TO PITTSBURG DMV

i think i'm done now, /soapbox

I might have punched a laptop screen once. It didn't go well, do not recommend.

My sight is sharp far away, but anything small / close up, ya know like various things on the bicycles I am working on, is pretty fuzzy. Also the right eye is worse, which is weird.

Out of curiosity I signed up for a overnight testing slot at the Zoox. Looks like I got it which means I'll be working from 3:30pm until 3am there, after putting in 4 hours at the bike shop this morning. It is possible I'll be the cat that curiosity kills. Friday might be a little rough, but it's also my last day at Zoox so, who knows how that will go.

yeah my eyesight is deteriorating so now it's glasses 24 hr/7. Cept when I'm sleeping. I can still see my dreams.

My eyesight has been deteriorating since I was 5 years old. You will get no sympathy from me!!! (Not that you asked for it :laughing)

About a month ago, I lost my glasses. Somehow I knocked them off my night stand while sleeping. I have backup glasses but they're just reading glasses from CVS maybe half the strength at best as my normal glasses and barely functional. Do you know how hard it is to find your glasses and barely see? I found them by accident because I had pretty much given up and was hours away from ordering new glasses.

I want to get lasik but my optometrist wants my eyes to stop changing as much between checkups before I do it. It's just her recommendation and I don't need her permission but I've had contacts/glasses almost my entire life. I can wait a bit longer.

So tomorrow me and mom have to go get a rental van to move shit out of my brother's apartment he's forced to move out because he can't pay rent breaking his lease. Why do we have to do this? Because he's alienated almost every person that would be willing to help him. I don't want to help him but mom feels obligated to help her son and she's already done way more than she should have to help. The guy is fucking 44 and he still hasn't figured out how to be a functional human.

Sure, I'm living with my mother which is not exactly my favorite situation so I can only throw a few stones from my glass house but that's more of an unfortunate circumstance and also she needs a caregiver and right now that's me because if it wasn't me, there would be nobody else. She can't afford a full time or even part time caregiver. Well, she can afford me if there's beer and food in the fridge. :laughing And she enjoys my company so she doesn't feel so lonely. For now, it's mutually beneficial but she knows at some point I'm going to have to make a serious effort to get my career back on track and get my own place again.

In the dark days of old, I would memorize all 5 lines on the DMV placards and simply recite the lines I couldn't really see. :laughing
Now I get contacts every time to avoid the restriction on my license...and I literally only need one contact, for my left eye. :rofl

I have a "Needs corrective lenses" on my DL. I renewed it about 1.5 years ago and took the eye test without glasses and passed. I said nothing as I do really need them at night when travelling to worlds far far away.

I can still see my dreams.
sometimes I'd rather not. Not mine

It is definitely cheaper to afford you.
