showing family the sites. walking across a bridge - got distracted by the boisterous scene at the rivers edge below. stopped to watch. large group cooking over a fire they’d built. two men in green informing them of the violation (big light box signs on the road in - no fires, no bbq’s). the (very large, loud, and aggressive) spokeswoman of the group was arguing with them. apparently she thought they were rangers. she might have been confused by the ‘park service’ emblems on the front of their tactical vests. what she failed to notice was the all caps ‘POLICE’ on their backs (their side-arms should have also been a clue). they took her belligerence for a lot longer than i would have. then the cuffs came out. i wanted to clap, but kept it to a laugh.
 
on another note, sitting outside, having a smoke - can smell something dead, out gassing. fuck. gotta go find whatever it is in the morning. double-bagging incoming. if i let him do it, he’d toss his cookies for sure - and i don’t want to deal with that.
