My wife and I both make bread but she does her sourdough all by hand while I cheat and use the dough feature on a bread machine to do the dough which i then pull out, rise once for an hour and then form and let rise for another. When the bread machine is forming the dough it warms up the liquid and once at temp starts its thing; a little bit like a small top load washing machine.

Anyway, Kato has always been fascinated and seems to enjoy the vibrations. :laughing :laughing

Digby ate the cuff off a latex glove and I'm at the vet now. Ultrasound shows gi track irrigation but nothing else. They're giving him meds to assist gi track contractions and some fluids in the nape of his neck. No food tonight, but he can have a bland breakfast. Hopefully this will completely resolve in time.

Our little girl Mae ate a rubber band a few days after we adopted her as a tiny kitten. Whisked her to the emergency vet in Berkeley and they had her fixed up in no time. I think they had her throw it up. I missed the whole thing, as I was on a sailboat when it happened. I'm sure Digby will be ok!

Kato is a bit on the dumb side, more than once he has leapt up from that counter trying to get at squirrels on the other side of the ceiling glass in that little sunroom.

I mean, once, sure, but half a dozen times of crashing back to earth?

He is a sweet boy though.

Khaleesi age 13 hates him as he loves nothing better than to chase her and get her to hiss at him.

Last visit to the vet he warned me about having elastic band laying around. I haven't brought any home in maybe years but there could always be some old ones lying around. I also make sure plastic tags from new clothes get thrown in the trash and never left on counters to be discarded later.

While on the safety topic is anyone concerned with your cat electrocuting itself by chewing on cords or poking around with a powerbar?
I try to remember flicking the red switch on them to off anytime I go out but sometime you forget.
Same thing with cords plugged into wall outlets, sometimes the cords back out slightly and expose part of the plug. A cat could get its tongue in there or possibly a paw. Would be an unfortunate outcome.
 
I'm always worried about power/charging cords, especially with a new kitten in the house. I never thought about being worried about the outlets, too, though. Great...just what I need...something else to worry about right now. Thanks a lot, buddy! :laughing

And, yes, we are super duper extra careful now with anything that could be harmful if swallowed by a cat. Eric was sitting at the table writing checks and Mae was "helping." Luckily he noticed the rubber band around his checkbook was missing within moments and he called me. I was working the main in a sailboat race at the time, and told him to Google it. He did, and of course it basically said your cat is going to die unless you take them to the most expensive emergency vet available right away, so that's what he did. The vet did say it could cause death if it got wrapped around important innards so it was the right course of action. We hardly ever use rubber bands anymore, and are super cognizant of anything dangerous. I always cut the rings from 6-pack holders, and when I throw out a plastic berry container or anything with holes in it I cut it apart so the holes are open...nothing an animal can get caught in or get wrapped around their neck or whatnot. Almost everything is made that way these days. Takes some time but worth it.
 
Might have mentioned this here before but have you noticed how so many cat toys have metal bells and and other metal parts attached. Can’t be good for their teeth when they bite into such something like that when chasing that stuff around on the end of a string trying to catch it. I don’t buy anything with metal parts on it.
