Tears shed for Janna as Smudge transitions to the next phase.

:-(

My condolences. May he play happily on the rainbow bridge, tell him to find boswell. They'll get along great up there till we make it some day.

Poor little Smudge. Hang in there Janna

On the upside, thanks to those who are out there rescuing and giving these critters good lives

My beautiful boy has passed. Folks, hug your pets extra tight, and always - ALWAYS - be as kind to them as you can, even if they're being annoying asking for more food, more play time, more petting and cuddles. You'll regret each and every moment you said, "Not now" or weren't as sweet to them as you could have been. Friday morning, we thought our little guy had a simple urinary tract infection. By Saturday night, we had to put him down.

So sorry Janna. We found the following poem at Best Friends, it really touched our hearts.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

That poem was quite comforting, when Boswell passed.

Janna, Keep a happy mood. Your Smudge, wouldn't want you to be too grieving about his passing. You offered him a happy and full life, and he cherished every moment of it.

:rose Smudge.

Love all the pictures and clips! I've had 3 cats over the years, all 3 rescues, and all 3 have passed on after long, happy lives. Will always have a special place in my heart for cats. Getting a dog (American Mastiff) this spring. :)

this is Margo the stray cat my cousin and his wife took about 2 years ago. The kitty is really cute and loves to play in boxes.

The cat and chicken....

Once upon a time (a month ago), a 'rescue' chicken and a 'cat sitting' cat starred at eachother safely through the glass door. I could tell you the cat blinked first.
