i just got a power commander for my 07 cbr 1000. i used the 9v bat to move it from my computer after i uploaded the fuel map to the bike. i was wondering, after i install it on the bike do i need to keep the 9v bat on there? the instructions didnt say one way or the other. i saw a cap for the plug in for the 9v bat so im guessing you can take it off and just put the cap on but i wanted to be sure.

thanks

no, the 9v is there so you dont have to hook up to the pc while it is installed on on the bike. Remove the 9v when you are done loading the maps

once you get it all up and running, can you tell me how you like it? what are the noticeable differences if any?

thanks!

+1. It's run by the bikes power so toss the 9V, but keep the adapter just in case you ever have issues with it and for some[\I] reason have to have it unplugged when you are diagnosing.

I don't know about on a CBR per say, but on my Kawasaki 636 the throttle response was GREATLY improved as well as MPG (I was running rich right in the middle of the rev range where I keep the engine on the street). A custom tuned mapped will yield the greatest results of course due to variances in exhausts and general bike condition. Raul @ Factory Pro in San Rafael does amazing work.

You can download he software from www.powercommander.com, under the download section. The "plug" that you are referring to I assume is the 9V battery plug? If so, it is not the end of the world if you do not have it. Just power the bike on (without starting). Other than that, that's it. The Powercommader software will tell you it is connected to the unit at the bottom of the control center. You will also have to dowload the file that has the tune files if you want to use one of the DynoJet maps that they have. There is a list of different tunes that have a small explanation of what the tune was done on (example Yosh full exhaust, stock air filter, etc). Just pick the one closest to you. But is should be tuned for your bike, as every bike is different.
