"Prius" and "High Speed" together? Yeah, I did a double take ...

Holy fuckballs.

"[Police] wished more drivers would have gotten out of the way sooner." :rolleyes:facepalm

Uhh I thought everyone knew, Police lingo...High speed or high rate of speed, doesn't mean actual high speed...

A Prius wouldn't make it to 120.. I suspect the police who were chasing him went 120+ to catch up.

My favorite is when they tell you how fast they had to go to catch you. They may not all be math wizards.

I had someone pull me over after flipping a bitch to catch me. He told me that I was going over 100mph because he went 140mph to catch me... He told me "I'll cut you a break and write you up for 85"

He didn't provide the radar clock. I took it to court and he didn't show. Case was dismissed.

Btw.. I was going 80..

Unless it was something special like a Camaro, no way did he hit 140.

I thought the Prius was governed at 99 MPH. :dunno

Edit: I stand corrected- the newer ones are governed at 107. Unless you change the sprockets.

I thought most police interceptors go over 140? I know they are chipped and the governor is removed. I could be wrong.

So getting the driver wired makes the car go faster? I wonder if that will work on my Busa i see 225 mph in my future Bonneville here i come. yahooooo!

Driving on 280 yesterday, some where around Los Gatos, I was doing about 85mph when a Prius blew right by me. There must have been a strong tail wind. LOL

Most can barely hit 120.

The Prius may have a modest power to weight ratio, but it is aerodynamic.

Than means that it does not NEED as much power at higher speeds as other cars. Also, remember from high school physics, the drag force is a exponential function of speed.

The old Caprice which had the Corvette motor over 15 years ago could muster up some pretty good speed. I heard from a few cops that they hated the Crown Vic that they were transitioning into.

And now that the Crown Vic is finally gone, cars like the new Caprice PPV, Charger, and Taurus (with the EcoBoost) are packing some pretty decent power now.

They should rig up an E85-tuned EVO 9 for car chases. Excellent power, superb handling, have off-road capabilities and enough backseat room to accommodate 3 suspects.

I've driven the Caprice police package. Lots of power, drives like a land yacht, making the CV feel almost nimble.
