Procrastination - Cautiousness, laziness, or disease.

Here it is - another year ending. And I have this huge pile of junk that I really needed to get done, but I haven't even put a dent in the enormous mess. I have had this problem for a very, very long, long time.

Now, it is time to make new year resolutions and I am thinking that it may be too much pressure and that I should really, really put off making any decisions until the 2009 new year. I hate disappointment.

Do I need professional help or am I just prudent?.....I wonder.

You definitely need professional help. Your attempt at sarcasm SUCKED.:rofl

its being lazy. you lazy bumb. stop being lazy AND GET OFF THE FUCKING SIDEWALK!!!1

We are always in one point or another where shit can be done but we dont, and putting it off so causes a few problems.

I do it, I am doing it now, and I will probably do it tomorrow. Procrastination just allows me to have fun, and than set a day and time to get everything done.

Other wise, I dont think I will stop putting things off today what can be done tomorrow.

I'll post later.... maybe... maybe not I don't know.... do you?

I tend not too, just because I hate just not accomplishing anything during my day. I don't know why, I just have do something everyday, so I have that finished feeling. I finished all my goals for this year, I painted my house, had my driveway repaved, put a shed up and now all I have to do is put patio stones down. Then I'm completely done with my home. I did the complete inside last year. so now, next spring-summer all my time will be spent riding and buying all those little toys I've always wanted.

I do lag on homework though, I can't fucking stand homework and studing!!!!

Why do today what you can put off until... wait, maybe nobody will notice if I never do it.

Clutchslip, take your huge pile of junk, put it into a bunch of boxes and drive it all down to your local Goodwill. It will be an awesome write-off on your 2007 taxes!

Otherwise make a resolution to pick up a project management book and learn to realistically plan out your large projects, making progress on them throughout the year. That way you won't beat yourself up at the 11th hour next December. :)

Thanks everyone for the clarification and support. BARFers come through again.

You folks make me realize that procrastination is not a problem at all- it's just a life style choice. Whoop!

In fact, thanks to Psychochik, I now realize that manic-depressive behavior is not only acceptable, but a definitive social statement!
Procrastination and spontinaity are the spice of my life. :teeth
Rock-on!

To those being so well organized and tidying everything-up for New Years, I suggest counseling. There must be a problem. You know who you are.

Procrastination is just like masturbation. It's easy to do and fun, until you realize you've just f*cked yourself!:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl

Thanks for playing, though, good to see you.

Thank you for playing though. Good to see you. :x

Alicia, you must be a project manager. OP make sure to put in a lot of "padding" to account for the inevitable delays.

P.S. My own story of shame. I have a book on project management sitting at my desk and I haven't come around to reading it :(
