For those of you who own the newer Monsters and bought a DP low seat, there has been discussion on DucatiMonster.org about unusual wearing of the material of the seat (see attached picture). Apparently, Ducati already knows about this so there are new seats (same part number) with new, different material.

I just took my seat to Ace and they said that they would warranty it out for me, no problem. And if DNA were open, they could've swapped it on the spot if given the thumbs up.

For the record, I've had that seat for about a year and have only ridden about 3500 miles on it.

Excellent timing, thank you very much for the heads-up. You should see what one looks like with 7,000 miles on it. The material is actually wearing away at the point where the seam of my pants sits - insert mighty fart joke here!
 
I just found out about this last week. I can imagine who was able to ride much more than I did over the past year that the wear would be more significant. Glad you caught this thread. The newer seat doesn't have the same sexy suede feel but the material does seem more durable. Guess I'm not going to have anymore random chicks fondling my seat :cool
