1 - I decided to ceramic coat one of my motorcycles last weekend. It made it so much more slippery that I actually had to adjust how I push it around the garage. I had to grip the bars harder because my hips just slid off the bodywork. In fact it almost got away from me when putting it onto the swingarm stand (by myself). I won't bore you with the coating process. Do it!

2 - Ceramic coating the wheels was a game changer. I coated the wheels over a year ago when I had them off to replace tires. The wheels stay clean longer, and when dirty they are much easier to clean. Most of the brake dust comes off with the hose, and the chain lube easily wipes off.

I drank this particular Kool-Aid a few years ago. My cars are buttery soft to the touch.
I love the stuff.
Every guy should keep a bottle of it on his night stand.

I put some spray on my seat for UV protection and I really did not like it due to the slipperiness...

Do you have a product you recommend? Is that MAXL One stuff any good? Whose snake oil is the snakiest?

I used this. I did 2 cars, 1 motorcycle, and 25% of a full size van and have 1/2 a bottle left.

Was the prep work a bitch?

I assume you have to apply to a super clean detailed surface.

Which is why some prefer to pay a shop to do this.

The prep work can be a big undertaking. With all the wear and tear seen in the paint on my 16yr old bike, all I did was give the bodywork a thorough wash. The only extra effort I put in was getting the bugs off the front and the chain lube off the rear. I didn’t even bother to claybar it.

For the cars, my effort equaled the age and quality of the paint. I claybarred and buffed the brand new car, I only claybarred the 16yr old second car and 18yr old van.

And when I say ‘claybar’ I mean I used the new tech claybar pad on my orbital polisher. It worked like magic.

FYI...

Meguiar's Beyond Ceramic M888 paint coating from Meguiar's - $99.99, currently out of stock.

An effective chemical product that you can buy in California? Astounding.

Elfin's van got ceramic coated today. And Rino liner on the black part. Shiny. nine years old and looks new...
