RADAR / LiDAR Jammers?

Currently there are no US federal laws prohibiting the use of laser jammers. However, some states have passed legislation of their own against jamming police laser speed guns.

Laser Jammers are illegal in the following states:

California – Vehicle Code Section 28150 Jamming: Electronic Speed-Measuring Devices
Colorado – Colorado Statutes : TITLE 4, ARTICLE 4, PART 14, 42-4-1415. Radar jamming devices prohibited – penalty.
Illinois – Sec. 12-613. Possession and use of radar or laser jamming devices prohibited.
Minnesota – Minnesota Statute 169.14 | Subd. 12. Radar jammer.
Oklahoma – Oklahoma Statutes: Title 47, Chapter 11, 11-808 | Section 11-808 – Radar Interference Devices – Advertising, Sale, Manufacture Or Distribution Prohibited – Exemption – Penalties
South Carolina – SECTION 56-5-3870. Motor vehicle speed detection jamming devices.
Tennessee – 39-16-610. Radar jamming devices.
Virginia – § 46.2-1079. Radar detectors; demerit points not to be awarded.

Laser Jammers are questionable in the following states:

Nebraska

All other states there is no known law against the use of a Laser Jammer.

I just got tagged twice in two weeks. And my wife really was having a baby.. Well one false alarm.. the other wasn't. I wasn't about to try to use it as an excuse.

Since one wasn't a false alarm, I assume your wife is no longer pregnant. Ergo, you have no need to speed to the hospital anymore. Ergo, you can drive at or below the speed limit and avoid getting tickets. Ergo, no LIDAR jammer purchase required.

Perhaps my logic is faulty?

I may be mistaken...but I don't think Lidar and radar are the same thing. So I suspect that it's possible that a lidar jammer does work, and also that a radar jammer does not. But I don't know either way...

Yep, they are not the same thing. Radar uses radio frequency energy waves and Lidar uses collimated light (lasers). Totally different.

Lidar jammers, if they're good, work just fine. But use at your own risk. They can be detected.

Radar jammers simply do NOT work. Even a huge jammer the size of a surround sound AV reciever/amp don't prevent a cop's radar from snagging your ass. And like someone mentioned, they are also totally illegal. Not because those who use them will be escape being ticketed, but because they pollute the airwaves with unnecessary radio waves that can screw up other types of radar devices.

My comments about an officer just laughing when he sees one was sort of tongue in cheek. Likely you'd have it confiscated and you'd be cited. And it's very, very, very expensive.

'Never gotten a link to the "thumbs up" before. :laughing

F C C perhaps my friend... :rofl

FAA + FCC....joint task force for this....
