My fuckin neck breaks out every time i shave it. I'm tired of this shit. Damn Mach 3 high powered razor doesnt seem to be doing it's job or is it user error? What do you sensitive skin people use? Procedures?

You know, electric razors seem to hurt my neck skin more than normal razors.

Are you going against the grain? Don't.

Are you pre-soaking your face with hot/warm water? -- You should...

hope you use shaving cream... you can try using a brush, that usually makes the hair stand out more.

when you shave you should use as less downward force as possible, as not to get your skin. Just very lightly, use a new blade, and get out fast :).

I'd say it's the Mach 3. I have one as well but it sits in the drawer. I went back to using my Sensor. It's the two-bladed version. There's not so much 'tugging' when I shave with it. Secondly, I shave in the shower. I'll get my face warm, apply a bit of soap or a dab of shampoo, take one swipe and rinse the blade. Take another swipe and rinse the blade again.

Once you are out of the shower, look for the spots you may have missed. I only use my blade for about 3-4 shaves during the work week. If it starts to fee like it's tugging, I chuck it in the trash and put a new one on. I think the most important part is to keep your face and neck slick while you shave. You may want to try a couple of shaving gels that have aloe in them or something.

Not really sensitive, but try using Gillette gel shaving cream.

:laughing I need to shave maybe once or twice a week. No razor burn. Not much hair to shave. I use the Mach 3 or electric.

Use a mach 3, shave before you get in the shower. Problem solved. I had the same problem for years until my uncle suggested this method.

Try Tendskin its hands-down the best to prevent razor burns and cuts/nicks.

Been using it for 2 years and i have sensivitve neck skin. Its so good that i shave with the grain, then against the grain, and no razor burns.

Mache 3 Turbo here! Shave in the shower. Do everything else first and let the steam do it's work. New blades are your friend. Change them regularly. I shave every other day and not on weekends unless is a special occasion. So pretty much Mon, Wed, Fri.

shave after showering and letting the HOT water hit your face for a good minute or so.
then i use mach3 with Aveeno (oatmeal based product company) shave gel. cool stuff. good for the skin.
if shaving but not showering, i get a small face towel and run the hottest tap water i can, ring the towel and massage it into my face for about a minute.
you also have to remember to moisturize daily and use an exfoliating scrub between shaves.
sounds "bitch-like" but it works for me.
don't forget the aftershave lotion (not regular splash, but a lotion)
Nivea has some good products too.

I do the opposite, shave as soon as I get OUT of the shower. Steam softens up the skin/whiskers so that they stand up straighter and are easier to shave.

I use Gillette sensitive skin shave gel and a mach 3 turbo. Thinkin' about installin NOS for those times I go for a week w/o shaving. :laughing

I got razor burn on my balls when I switched to Gillette. It also seemed to allow chaffing on top of the Stick as well...

So, I switch to the Aveno Oatmeal shaving cream. Seems to be okay now...

Pretty much what everyone said already.

Use a hot towel and put it on your face for about a minute. This will open up your pores.

Use a good shaving cream and brush. The bristles from the brush will make your hairs stand up more. I don't like to use spray creams. I'll pay extra for good shaving cream.

Shave with the grain, not against.

Use cold water immediately after shaving. This will close the pores back up.

Good after shave lotion/cream afterwards.

This SOMEWHAT my routine for the 3 hairs on my chinny chin chin.

I knew I would learn something from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy!:laughing

Im the hairiest korean so I can safely say without a doubt my word is GOLD.

Take a LONG HOT shower.

Calamari is right it softens the skin but also softens the hair that your cutting. That way the blades cut the hair and dont pull the hair allowing the next blade to cut the skin.

If I shave before a shower even if I wet my skin for a few minutes it still gives me the worst burn and lots of little bloody holes

also make sure ur using the sharpest blade. Mach three is way better than sensor.

And finally Ive found that skin bracer is the BEST aftershave.
Forget creamy shit. Gotta use the wet shit to sooth the skin after a shave. After the stinging is gone I rinse off the crap cuz it stinks. Then I use Neutrogenas after shave which is more like a lotion and leave it on.

Now the only time I ever get screwed is if I use an old razor.

But again GET the face WET for a long time. barbers will let the steaming towel sit on ur face for a pretty long time before shaving u. Not just 1 minute.

I will go along with just about everyone else, shave in the shower, at the end. Gives the steam and warm water time to do its thing.

Or, just grow a beard :laughing

Try anything/everything that has been said AND washing your face AFTER you shave.

alot of gillete gel. eletric shaver irrates my sensitive skin. i like to use the mach 3 for the intial run throughs then a disposable to finish for a nice clean shave. but the disposables aare the ones thatll cut u

How can you guys shave with the grain and still get a close shave?

I have tried doing it that way and it feels like I have 5 o'clock shadow as soon as I am done.

What gives????:confused

Actually, what I do is shave with grain and get it down as close a possible, THEN I lather again and shave against the grain. No problems for me. But then again I need about half a roll of toilet paper afterwards.:laughing
