Broke a spoke on the rear wheel of my DRZ. Looking online the only options I could find that were clearly compatible were a full set which would end up being $100 :wow

I've emailed procycle to see if they sell individual spokes. I've also seen moose racing spokes for 18 inch wheels for sale, but I am guessing not all wheels are going to compatible, or are they?

Any Parts Unlimited dealer.
Moose p/n 0211-0087 is the one for older RM's & DRZ's.

Ok sweet, I was thinking there might be a moose spoke that would work, but I couldn't find measurements on any of them! Worst part of this is, it was the nipple that broke, not the spoke, so I can't just thread it on a new one, but hey, with all this rain I've got nothing but time on the weekends.

I'm not sure if you feel like a short drive for just one spoke, but Chris Quinn / Wheel Works (moto shop, not the car tire shop) in Hayward can usually make spokes while you wait.

For mail order, +1 for Buchanan's. According to their website they do sell individual spokes.

A number of options already mentioned.

Just a few more thoughts.

Sometimes you can find new individual OEM spokes on eBay for models that only sell in sets (cross reference other models that use the same spoke to broaden search.) Worth a look, I've had success.

Wouldn't be the worst idea to actually replace all the spokes on a 10yr + old dirt bike, especially if one just broke. Others aren't far behind in my experience.

If replacing all the spokes, strongly recommend some stainless steel spokes on dirt and dual sports. They stay looking good for so much longer than the zinc or chrome plated ones AND are so much easier to keep clean. Moose, Buchanon and others make them.

If worried about lacing up a dirt wheel for the first time, don't be. It much easier, even for a complete newb, than most realize. Reach out if you want any tips.

Just my suggestions and experience, others may vary. :thumbup

Spoke ordered and installed. Nipple was bigger than stock and aluminum, so I used a step drill bit to slightly widen the hole, it barely needed to remove any material so I am not worried about that. Snugged the spoke up after I spent a bit pounding a flared out section of sidewall back in place-ish. Then I went through and made sure it was round-ish and true-ish. Good enough for dual sporting. I'm curious to see if the aluminum nipple holds up or fails. I'll definitely be traveling with a spare.

little shorter than stock, but there are a good amoutn of threads engaged...

Nice! :thumbup

Somewhere around here there is a pic of Dima hammering on a taco'd rim with a big ass rock in Baja. :laughing

Its pretty common to have to enlarge the hub's or rim's holes ever so much for aftermarket spokes. Pretty sure I drilled out all the hub holes on the last 18" wheel I built for the YZ with aftermarket stainless steel spokes.

Your new spoke may stretch and settle a bit, so keep an eye on it's tension for a bit.

did anyone else giggle at the thought of carrying a spare nipple around and perhaps think of Total Recall?

for adjusting flanged things made of work hardened metal, i've found an Adjustable Nutfucker works pretty well

Good call out, it's not as easy to stretch the moto wheels as it is with bicycles!

I realized while "fixing" this wheel that I don't have one of these, would have been nice as that is exactly what I'd use to remove dents in bicycle wheels back in the day.

My uncle barn find this DRZ and it may new spoke. We'll fetch it later after we installed the shocks and method wheels on the truck this weekend. Good to hear Buchanans is also recommended here.
