Hi,

I am looking for a 3/4 length textile jacket. I would appreciate any feedback on the Rev'it line and how you find their jackets to fit. I have a slim build at 6', 170 pounds, and 40" chest. I hear that the Rev'it jackets tend to run slim? Did you order your normal size or did you have to go up a size? Also what is the sleeve length like? I have long arms (35/36") so I normally take a 40L suit.

TIA for any advice!

Rev'it publishes their sizing in their sales magazine (available online, or at a Rev'it dealer.) Measure yourself properly and order.

With that said, they do tend to run a little small. I fit their large jackets nicely, with my usual sizing being somewhere between medium and large.

If you go to revit's website: www.revit.eu, you can look up the size measurements for your chest size.

At Scud, I've never had someone with arm length issues to have problems with revit sizes. The only time that becomes an issue is when their shoulders are wider in proportion to the rest of their body, or if they have slightly larger biceps. The Revit catalogue size charts says you'd be a Revit Euro Size 50. The range for chest measurement in this size is 99-102 centimeters.

Revit also runs narrow in the biceps, and across your back across the shoulders as well as from one armpit to another. My shoulders are a little wide for my frame, so i had to buy one size up to fit them. You need to fit the widest part of you.

But it definitely can depend on what kind of jacket you're getting too. If you're getting a Cayenne or Off Track textile, it has a liner so that fit will be different than a leather Revit without a liner. What type of Revit gear are you looking at?

If you're anywhere near SF, I highly recommend going to visit Scuderia to try some jackets on. :)

^^^ I am looking at the Devil or possibly the Scirocco jackets. Do I need to go up a size to account for the liners?

So I'm a size 50/52 or L based on chest circumference?. However I do have relatively broad shoulders and long arms so I was concerned about the sleeve length, especially on a riding jacket. Some manufacturers give the sleeve length from shoulder seam to end of cuffs or middle of collar following shoulder contour to end of sleeve but that measurement is not provided on the Rev'it site. It's not foolproof but this tends to help me with sizing. I don't have large biceps/forearms so that shouldn't be an issue but perhaps the shoulders will.

Thanks.

got to scuderia, try one on. it's great gear. one thing to consider, do you know any dutch people? seriously, they tend to be tall & lanky. and rev'it is a dutch company, so their gear tends to fit that body type.

rev'it gear seems to fit me the best out of anything i've tried on. i'm 5'10" and 145lbs, 38-40 (US) chest measurement and a 30" waist. most of the other euro stuff, if it fits in one place, it doesn't fit somewhere else. most american companies don't seem to believe that human beings of my particular dimensions exist in the world.
