Rev'it pants

I've just received a gift of Rev'it sand pants:

I can't figure out what this material is. It's described as "PWR|shell 500D, PWR|shell 750D." Is this a ballistic nylon? It doesn't say anywhere on the packaging.

Does anyone know what level of abrasion resistance this offers? Can I wear these with just boxers? How might these compare with, say, Kevlar jeans?

1200 denier nylon I think for some of it, 750 denier & 500 denier for the rest? I'd expect a lot more abrasion resistance than kevlar reinforced jeans.

I would wear 'em as gear, not as overpants. I'd imagine you'd have to size 'em really big to get those pants + both liners comfortably over another pair of pants.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, I'm really happy with the gear.

Sadly, the rev'it fairy only leaves such gifts when you drop a couple thousand on shiny metal bits from Tiffany's.
