Looking to replace my riding boots.
I'm currently on a pair of Leatt 7.5 HydraDri boots and even though they are very comfortable, the quality has been very disappointing and the water proofness is really poor (left foot kept getting wet on my trip to Canada).

I am looking at the Sidi Adveture 2 boots but I feel my foot is on the wider side and I'm afraid they will always feel tight.

Any recommendations of similar boots? Something that works better with wider feet and good water proofing?

You're right about Sidi being a bit narrow. Can you get to a Cycle Gear to try on options?

I wore out a pair of Sidis off-road. My foot is wide & I don’t remember any problem with them being narrow.

For my entire life, I have had issues finding shoes that fit, because of my stupidly wide feet. So when I find shoes that fit, I just keep buying that shoe over and over again lol

For motorcycle boots, I researched and obsessed for months, and finally discovered Daytona.

I bought a pair of Daytona Road Star boots in extra wide after measuring my feet and exchanging emails with “Helmut” at helimot.com (helimot seems to be pretty much the only US dealer for Daytona boots).

When they came…they were almost TOO wide…so I thought. They were also pretty awful at first. I’ve never had motorcycle-specific boots up until that point. Previous to that, I was wearing hiking boots that I bought just to pass muster for the CMSP class. Anyway, these boots were so stiff that I couldn’t properly shift gears or work the rear brake.

I wanted to return them at some point, but I thought I would take the advice of others I encountered during my research, and I proceeded to do the various breaking-in exercises on them. Several times a day, I would do squats, and then also this thing where I would point my toes out while sitting on a chair…basically, get the boots to hinge repeatedly. It took a week and a half of this, but afterwards, they became I think one of my most comfortable footwear I have ever owned.

Anyway, I like these boots. They’re supposed to last a long time, and if you want to pay for shipping to Germany, they’ll even patch it up for you if they get damaged, so I hear.

Yup...I have a pair of 1 year old Sidi's that I never wear because they hurt my feet. They are the exact same size as my Alpinestars (46), which fit me perfectly. I've had these SMX6's for about 10 years and I got the Sidi as a replacement...

I think I'll stick to Alpinestars from now on for comfort. I think the Sidi's are a bit better build quality, but they just don't fit my wide size 11.5 feet as well as the A*s...

I loved my Aerostich Combat Lites. Heavy and stiff at first but once broken in, super comfortable. I even wore them all day at work.

As I recall, they are made by Sidi to Aerostich’s specifications.

Did I sell those to you a bunch of years ago?...

Nope. I bought them directly from Aerostich. I had them ship me three sizes. I picked the pair I that fit me best, returned the other two, and then ordered another pair in the same size. I then picked the best fitting from the two pairs and returned the other two. Customer service was great And crediting my account was fast.

I had a pair of SIDI that I basically wore until they fell apart. I liked those boots alot. Then I purchased a Daytona Road Stars and in my opinion, they are better than the SIDI. The zippers are more high quality, the liner feels like its better quality, and unlike the other poster mentioning these boots, I didnt have to do anything but wear the boots for a week to properly break them in. So I'm recommending that you give Daytona a chance. They do make an adventure style boot.

I do have a Cycle gear sort of close but they mostly carry Sedici stuff.
You can order anything on their website in store to try on. I bought my last two pairs of boots that way. Previous boot was the 3rd size I tried, the current boot was the 2nd.

As has been said, for a wide foot (or a foot shaped foot) avoid Sidi. The pointed Sidi shape is good for bunions. But who wants bunions?

Decided to order from Revzilla a pair of Gaerne G-Dakar GTX and a pair of Forma Terra EVO Dry Boots. I'll try them at home and keep the ones that fit best.
They are both pretty comparable to the Sidi boots.
Would love to hear from those that currently own those boots. Pros, cons.

I too have duck shaped feet. EEE. I own a pair of Adventure lows and the Adventure highs. The toe box is very roomy, decent to walk in and waterproof.

Sidi !!! Plenty of choices.

Daytona, good too.

But Sidi are the Shiznitz...Made in Italia.

alpine star toucans.

The old Sidi Discovery Rain (on which the Aerostich Combats are based) are fantastic. Mine are 19 years old, have been re-soled, and finally need “real” repair. Unfortunately, they discontinued the model and as we both found out, the Adventure is more narrow with little give.

I bought a pair of Alpinestars Corozal Adventure Drystar boots and love them. I’m considering getting a second pair as a backup for when A* inevitably discontinued them! Haven’t tried them in the wet, but I expect they will hold up - I’m just on the street, not doing water crossings.

Good luck in the search!

I tried both and don’t care for them, for different reasons. I hope you have a better experience, but if not, see above.
