Weather here in New England is all over the place, from chilly mornings to humid and hot, so something that will keep me cool in the summer and keep me warm and dry in the cooler months (of course waring proper layers). Agree on light colors, not sure why most brands make black products.

I commute year-round here in the Bay Area which can include weeks of mid 30 deg to 110 deg. My go to is the Aerostich std R3 and the Classic.
It would take hours to list all the accoutrements that make it work for me.
Imo most important is neck and crotch protection from rain, cold, and scorching heat.
