Hey guys,
On Thursday September 17th, Joe was riding e-scooters with his lady and two friends. He was riding sweep just in case anybody was going slow so they didn’t get lost on the way to their destination. Something happened and Joe crash, unfortunately not wearing a helmet. Joe suffered massive head trauma and died at the scene.
Joe leaves behind 3 beautiful baby girls, 3 wonderful teenagers, his Amazing girlfriend Brianna, and countless family and friends. This loss is so painful! Joe was my best friend of almost 20 years.
Joe, I don’t even know what to say or how to start. How do you put all the years, adventures, road trips, track days, photo shoots and everything in between into words? It’s impossible to describe our friendship and find the words that can express the love I had for you, the grief is fucking hard to face. I turned on my Facebook for the first time in years so I could look back at all the post and memories, so many emotions flooded over me.
Back in 2007 I bothered the living shit out of you to join you at the track and take pics with you. I admired your skills behind the lens, the way you carried yourself with a sense of humble arrogance. To describe you to someone would be a near impossible feat, it’s one of those descriptions that leaves you saying, “you just gotta meet the guy.”
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to shadow you, to learn what you know, as you encouraged me to always make it my own. Over the years we became such a dynamic duo that was 4theriders. Traveling all over California, Nevada, Arizona, and Utah to copious amounts of tracks. From mobbing down to Mexico to document the Baja 1000 race and jet setting to Florida to work with GoPro at the Daytona 200.
We’ve spent countless hours in car together, talking about life, love, and our own pursuits of happiness. You exposed me to the most broad range of music I’ve ever enjoyed. You were like a walking jukebox. Lyrics on demand like you were reading from a page.
We’ve gone on so damn many adventures together I could type for the rest of the week and not put a dent in that chapter of our lives. You are my mentor, my best friend, my brother. I’m so heartbroken, but so very thankful to have countless memories to look back on to smile and laugh. I don’t know what else to say…
I wish I could go on one more adventure with you, one more day at the track, one more ride. I know youre out there, still behind the lens, still capturing those moments. We will talk about them one day when we’re together again.
I love you my ninja.
#4Joe
