RIP Peter Lenz #45

To the Lenz Family, I am so sorry for the loss of your son Peter, and also to the loss of a rising star. From all of the posts before this one, you WILL be missed. Rest in Peace Young Man.

Its so sad.

I only met Peter once, he was accidentally taken out from behind by another rider on the first lap of MDH250 race in Buttonwillow earlier this year. They were both down in the apex of my turn, turn 2, with a second wave of 30 ...bikes coming a few seconds behind them. The other rider got his bike up, and I told him to get off the track, and I got Peter and his bike off the track, but we were still in an impact area when the other bikes were coming into our turn. Race control red flagged the race, because they didn't know I was able to clear both bikes. I told Peter and the other rider to get back into the pits, and have their bikes re-teched and get back into the race for the restart, which they both did. On the restart, Peter was out in front again, and led the whole race for the win. He was ecstatic, and really gave me big props when he went by me. This is a picture of him on the cool down lap of that race, in my turn.

I wish all the best to Peter's family and friends.

RIP AND GODSPEED LITTLE MAN!

So very sad. RIP Peter. :(

Shocked when I found out at work.
RIP Peter :rose
So young, so fast..so soon.

I can't imagine how hard this must be for his family. I met them a couple times and was always impressed with their dedication and love for the sport. The smile on Peter's face every time I saw him told me that he had found that "thing" that we are all searching for. I wish his family and friends comfort and peace. He was an amazing young man.

Here's a picture of Peter at Buttonwillow this spring.

Godspeed Peter :rose

My deepest symapathies to Peter's family and all of his friends and fellow competitors.

This news digs deep among many here.. and there is no way to explain how I feel about it. Just so sad that such a bright eyed young man and brilliant racer will not be at the next race. We were blessed to see the talent.. and many more were blessed to know the family and Peter.

:cry

Wow. I remember listening to Peter and his dad on a podcast not that long ago... listening to them talk about his love of racing and how his family supported him really hit home for me. You'll be missed Peter. :rose

RIP peter. I raced with you my first race at Buttonwillow, you were absurdly fast and a phenomenal sportsman than. I was so excited to be in the same race as you and figured that one day you'd be out there on the world stage and I'd be able to say that I once got my ass kicked by him when he was just a kid.

RIP :(

This is just sad, very sad. My condolences to the Lenz family too!!!!!!

My deepest sympathies to the Lenz family. Peter was a nice kid and although I had only met him a few times you could be very proud of him and the young man he was growing up to be. As a Dad I cannot imagine how this is for you. My prayers and thoughts to you...

So unfortunate. RIP :( I couldn't imagine what his parents must be going through at a time like this.

Peter did have some barf connections.. he raced with Anthony a lot and his Dad was a member here.

Here are some of the stories have been posted up on barf about Peter.. some great times.. some challenges.

This young man sure did have a lot of those good times. As a Dad I am just feeling it.
So sorry for the loss of such a full of life young man.
