jabs set up the opponent, tiring them out and making them move in a predictable way, setting up for a k.o. hook or uppercut, or in this case, a kick.
fighters in mma tend to use wrestling techniques to get the fight on the ground, boxing training involves more in and out, staying out of reach, with accents on harder punching.
The two styles are counter intuitive, so when someone comes along who can punch AND grapple equally well, they are the package.

Professional fights are entertainment. Knees to the groin, eye gouging, or elbows to the throat are considered fouls, not proper technique. wussies.

Holm was and 18 to 1 underdog and then there was a flurry of late betting which made it less lopsided. The betting on mma doesnt pay that well even when betting on the longshot however.

That being said, there are distinct differences between a man and a woman's potential w.r.t to fighting capability. You could deny this and be like Rounda ... Of course, a smooth leg kick her face grounded her in reality.

If we lived in a different society that truly saw women/men as equal in all ways .... (even though we are different in many ways but equal) there would be no hangups about letting a woman fight a man in a ring.. That being said, after about 3-4 bloody nightmares, I'm sure that practice would be quickly ended and the debate put to rest.

Holly's original back round is boxing, she was a boxing champion in three different weight classes. I think she added kickboxing to her skill set later.

You could see off the top who had more potential in the first round.
Holly had more heart and potential and it showed.
One thing Holms was doing was respecting Rousey ... Even the face-off where I typically place my bets was clear...
Rousey was overextending and attempting to project strength while Holly showed nothing.. stone cold slaughter house face

Lit her face up with those jabs :laughing .. face was looking like a jelly doughnut after that first round
