Hey Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone is the city does a poker run. I have not seen on advertised and they were an awesome way to spend the day on bikes and raise money for a good cause. We had a really cool one in Toronto right before I moved to San Francisco and I would be interested in help coordinating one here if others were interested.

For those that don't know what a poker run is : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poker_run
See the poker run from Toronto : http://www.soulseekersshow.com/poker-run/

Essentially here is how it works :

Special playing cards are placed in sealed envelopes at participating vendors around the city randomly.
Participants (Motorcyclists) ride around the city and collect one card per stop. This is a great way for bikers to meet and see new shops, bars, galleries and restaurants around the city and helps local businesses get exposure and participate.
Later in the evening there is an event that would hopefully be sponsored by local bikes shops, a bike company and hopefully a beer company (PBR and Sailor Jerry sponsored the event we had) where there will be food, music and charity auction.
People will hand the dealer the envelopes and they will be opened and the best 5 card hand will be pulled out.
People with the best hands will win prizes and drinks as well some of the envelopes will include free drinks, etc
Let me know if anyone knows anything likes the idea or if something like this already happens.

Cheers

I thought SFMC or OMC did something like this.

If not, they'd be the people to bring it to to get it done.

I went to the one in pittsburg last year hosted by sportbike freaks or sbf, had a good time would def do it again and would attend more if there were more in the bay area
