but you have to admit the 1098 and its variants is one of the few bikes ever made that looks bonerific from every angle, in real life and in pictures.

I was flipping through some euro mags and found all these pics of the 1098, ass shots, wheelies (lawdy the wheelies shots), top shots ect. just frikken proper everywhere.

:party

:x go to the Ducati meets...you'll fap everywhere

:p :laughing

I'll take a wild guess and assume that karbon doesn't go to any meets but he is everywhere on barf

Aww, be nice to Karbon. Just 'cause he lives in BFE...

Exact opposite of the new asymmetrical BMW superbike abortion monstrosity...:wtf

That thing's probably hotter than any bike I'll ever ride, but it's looks give me the insta-limp.

I would hafta agree sexy ass bike I was glad to see the 999 have a short life ugliest crap ever My fav is still the mv f4 :drool

Well, considering the competition, looks-wise...

One look at the specs claimed in the BMW tent at GP and I was even more of a fan of the looks.

I don't know how they think they're getting 180 hp tho. I'd like to see that on a dyno.

I don't see much difference between the 999 and 1098, except the numbers, swing arm, and computer. But I am not looking at bikes much and am probably biased :teeth

i had interest in a duc once when the 848 came out, then i rode it. what's with the no hand clearance on the fairing? digital tach, bleh. they try to hard on appearance only. :x

actually

i was looking at the 848/1098/1198 pictures the other day
and i actually found an angle where the bike didn't look good..

that would give you an idea of what i saw. If you get really low and in front of the front wheel.. the bike looks kinda weird with the 2 intakes..

regardless, still a beautiful bike:)

Oh, well you should see the new r1. If its headlights were eyes, its intakes are where its eyelids should be. From the front, it looks like a mental patient with his eyes pulled open with hooks.

What's amazing about that bike is that the design is essentially 10+ years old at this point and still looks amazing - Massimo Tamburini is a legend.

As for the 848/1098/1198 design, I was blown away when I first saw it. Once some of the initial "wow" factor wore off, there are certain things I don't like about it - namely the pipes and the rear 3/4's profile. I actually prefer the rear section of the 999 (except for the double-sided swingarm, but I suppose that goes with the vertical symmetry theme).

Still, what a bike. :teeth

brutale hands down owns all itinerations of the 1098 or 1198 or 1198s or 1098r
