So I am in need of a new W router, I have a WrTG54 but If I try to log onto PSIII network or use my iphone while the wife has her laptop going it will flat out stop working and have to be reset. guess its not powerfull enough to have to many componets going at once.

Anyway's I am looking for a Dual Band 450-450 or something that will work with out issues I am having now. I would like to have a centeral mount unit hooked to main home computer and have enough juice to to use mult devices same time without crashing.

Let the Schooling start

I have GL version of it. I can connect couple laptops, kindle, and my android to it without any issues.

Amazon still sells them for 50 bucks: link

yeah... dont bother with "G" these days something thats a 1x1 is a joke.

to be non technical, if you use alot of Internets and googles you need something with more horse power...

get this one for 100$ for some super awesomeness.
or get last gen super awesome for only 65 bones (I have this one and its Fucking WIN!)

Oooo Christmas came early. :laughing Will I be able to use it's full capability with Intel 5300 build in card? It's 3-4 years old now. I believe it supports N protocol, so I am guessing yes?

I have the Netgear N600 Dual Band 3700 model, works like a champ, I have my wireless xbox, wifi tv, ipad, laptop, wii, cellphones, and speed stays up. Consider getting the much looking model the "WNDR3800". it supports up to 300mbps. Costco has it for less than any retails stores even Amazon. Check it out. The linkys its way overpriced, but also good choice.

ASUS or bust for me these days, too many dead linksys and my netgear just took a crap. Asus's are usually on sale at frys too

Dan- have you tried upgrading the firmware on your router?

This.

That sounds like some sort of association bug, not really a problem with the hardware per se.

As for speed, don't be fooled by those numbers, 11n really just optimizes for traffic in one direction to one client.

I'm betting on your typical Alaskan connection from GCI or whomever, you'd be JUST FINE on 802.11g...shoot, possibly b.

:laughing

Oh, and if anything is statically addresses (like the Xbox), make sure that IP isn't inside the DHCP range served by the router.
