dev: can i get a sprite?
waitress: (brings a sprite with a straw)
dev: can i get a cup with ice?
waitress: (a puzzling look on her face)
dev: can i get a cup with ice? (pointing at a cup with ice water)
waitress: oh ok (takes the sprite away and never returns)

oh wait, it gets better...

dev: (asks a waiter this time) i ordered a sprite
waiter: oh, i'm sorry i get that for you (returns with a sprite & a straw)
dev: can i get just a cup with ice in it? ... just a cup with ice in it?
waiter: oh ok (waiter returns with an empty cup NO ICE)

dev: looks at us at the table and asks if he has an accent in his voice

we all look at dev and say, "that's the problem, you don't have an accent so they don't understand the words coming out of your mouth"

our suggestion to dev, take the empty cup next door to In & Out and get your own damn ice from the soda dispenser
