<<< SF Monthly Night Ride Friday 4/30 >>>

i didn't fall. c'mon, man. you can throw a motorcycle at me while i'm doin a wheelie, and i don't fall.

i'm a fuckin weeble wobble.

If the ride is too fast for someone then all they have to do is move towards the back. There is too slow for this ride but that would mean you can't even do the speed limit which means you really shouldn't be on the ride in the first place.

All I can say is I was the last person in the ride and we were no where near the speed limit. So if anyone wanted to do the speed limit, they needed to be in the VERY back of the ride.

...define 'speed limit'.

...define 'speed limit'.

how were you defining "speed limit" during the ride?

the only part of the ride where I was below the speed limit was where the sand was piled up on the road.
I'm not gonna post the speed I was travelling.

Thank you Polyfinn for posting the pix

Which is where I was doing the speed limit most of the time. You did see me referred to during the talk before the ride?

I would say the speed that I feel safe to travel and not risk others. Thats my speed limit. Sounds like it may have been too quick for your liking.

If you didn't like the speeds, other rides are available. Its not for everyone.

This was my first BARF ride, and I had a fuckin blast, and part of that was the speed. I couldn't keep it slow if I wanted to, something about a bunch of guys on motorcycles mashing through the streets of SF that gets the adrenaline pumping.

As far as safety goes, I think that the main issue that some were concerned with was the speed coupled with the aggressive passing and cramming together in lanes. I feel a little lucky that I didn't get hit while some people were passing me real close at high speed, as at any moment I may have needed to swerve for a pothole, oil slick, other rider etc... Sometimes I couldn't see people that were about to whiz by within inches of me and that definitely gave me some ass clenching white knuckle moments.

I'm not hatin on the ride...It was awesome. But I do at least understand where some of the people here are coming from.

But screw em anyway right? :twofinger

Meh, speed's all well and good, I didn't have any issues with that but even up at the front I wasn't too keen on the 3-4-5 in the same lane side-by-side-by-side thing, 2 abreast is the most I've ever ridden. Not too big a deal, I just stayed to the outside on one side or the other.

what happened to your roommate sir?

got a hole in the radiator. musta took a rock on the last curvy section before we pulled up at that light.

we ended up at a phillipino bbq joint right around the corner. had some killer food while we waited for a truck.
sorry i missed the rest of the ride.

that's no fun

C'mon guys. Perhaps due to road conditions, this ride was a bit tamer/slower than it can be; at least that's the feeling I got. I don't know what was going on in back, but towards the front didn't seem to have more than a normal amount of guys zipping around.

It's down to the basic tenet of 'Ride Your Own Ride'; if you're un-comfortable at whichever position you're in, move to another spot - different group around you, eh?

I'm looking forward to more daylight in these rides; get to see more of the places we jet-thru.

:deadhorse

those are sexy bikes:drool
