Back on f-kin topic, this parking change does not make THAT much of a difference to me, hey I can walk. Amazingly, walking still exists. (last few times I've been to the Ferry Building by walking)

Plenty of parking on Spear and Main, just a stones throw from the Ferry Bldg. Hell, the price went down from 70 cents to 60 cents per hour :party
 
It's all about economics - if you've got the dough, the city is great (similar to NYC). That's the simple truth. Top global cities are expensive to live in...

It isn't about the $. There are plenty of expensive areas in the North Bay, Peninsula and East Bay as well as middle class areas in S.F. It's the attitude, this time expressed by parking enforcement. There is plenty to like about the City but it ain't what it used to be and those currently calling the shots are doing eveything they can to drive those spending the $ and supporting it out.

I did not see this crap going on in Stockholm, Helsinki, Oslo, Munich, Seattle or many other "Top global cities".............. Sure maybe Athens and Paris but damn, why keep lowering the bar?

My folks finally moved out of a very nice high rise because they got tired of steping around ppl wondering if they were asleep or dead. Hobo crap on the sidewalks was the last straw. Had enough and moved down to Monterey.

you don't get it. it's not the "parking enforcement". It's simply that not so many people want to go to bumblefcuk towns around SF, so there aren't big parking fees.
Althoug, ironically we went to burlingame the other Sunday ... WTF couldn't find parking. That's cuz it's full of cars!!!

Who cares!
But, just to appease IronButt cuz he's obviously right.. SF sucks indeed. That's right, it just does... it's public transit sucks, too.
But SF is still the better than other boring holes around the Bay Area .

oh and people that live in skyscrapers in SF -- they are the reason there is parking enforcement around the ferry building..

Burlingame has MC parking.. lots of FREE motorcycle parking..like it should be.... you just have to keep your eyes peeled. Cars tend to park over the MC lines..

and the parking enforcement in Burlingame, they can read # and l3tters..

:orly Tell that to the number of San Franciscans that have moved out of the City, or out of CA altogether. I moved to Oakland because it was cheaper and a fellow rider was the building manager. Not to mention the better weather.

But if it makes you feel better I still come into SF to visit my parents. :party

Exactly. That's why I'm posting here. To tell them that they were wrong. The fact that they want to create Detroit effect doesn't make them right. No.., it makes them wrong by definition.
For example., exactly the Ferry Building is trying to make SF better. So., stop bitching or come live in SF .:twofinger
